Thank god your dog survived the last member that had a dog die, well lets not go there0

On the first night we found my dog (a 1 year old cockapoo) munching something in the corner. It turned out to be an open container of rodent poison.
Being devils advocate here a bit.
OP didn't mitigate the problem by taking the dog to the vet immediately where the vitamin K injection would have been given. This would have resulted in the dog possibly suffering no ill effects but certainly making the recovery quicker.
Anyway as has been said £330 is not a lot for making this go away. Very careless of the property owner.0 -

Which I did feel terribly guilty about.
We were however 100s miles from home. At 11.30pm on a Friday night in a fairly remote patch of countryside. The vet says the treatment would have been the same. She said it would have been useful to know how much/what brand but said that only made a difference to the dose strength so she went with the max.
The comment about the cleaner should've removed it was verbal unfortunately...0 -

But how else would the cottage owner be able to make this 'go away' permanently?0 -

I think you missed the point, the gagging order would be to not mention it anymore or publicise the incident which would have detrimental effect on the business. Obviously it would include discussing the settlement also I would expect.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
Gagging orders are possible if there's talk of compo etc., but make no sense for £300-odd receipted costs. I think it's a red herring in this case, and very unlikely. The paperwork alone is going to cost more than its worth.0

Any help (or just a hug) much appreciated. It really did ruin the weekend retrospectively....
I can't really help, but *Hugs*
I'd be devastated if it was me.That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

****UPDATE****
Hello
Thank you all so much for your replies,
Just to let you know after an email outlining how we felt the cottage owner had not shown a duty of care including attaching the HSE document she agreed to pay the full vets bill amount and transferred it this week.
So the outcome we were hoping for0 -
Good news.0
