My wife has a credit card...

I haven't responded to this thread because I was surprised by the number of people who think that they're marriage guidance councillors or that my belief that someone who doesn't have an income shouldn't have a credit card is misogynistic rather than common sense. Why would anyone want to take advice from a bunch of narrow minded, sanctimonious people who offered very little advice? Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone here but it applied to enough people to make my blood boil and stop me coming back.
The thing about the "pin money" made me laugh though. My full salary is paid in to a joint account which I then get 10% of in my personal account as my "spending money" and 10% goes in to a savings account. I don't spend the other 80% on anything - that's for food, bills, clothes and whatever the wife needs - she uses it to get manicures one a month and a bottle of wine (I hate wine and don't drink at home anyway) whenever she wants. This money is not paid in to a NW account so they don't know about it.
I resent the comments like "only money he allowed me access to was child benefit" like I'm some sort of controlling monster. The child benefit is for her IN ADDITION to my salary. I'm such a bast**d. I came in here to ask for advice and received nothing but vitriol and shallow digs at the quality of my marriage. That is why I haven't been back to comment.0 -
My sister has been offered an overdraft at NW even though her credit file is shot to pieces, has bailiffs trying to find her, owes tens of thousands of pounds, so yes I have to wonder how in depth their checks are when offering money.0

I think the title of this thread got a few backs up: "My wife has a credit card..."
However, despite what you've written, your wife does have an income. It's 80% of yours.0 -

What you've experienced, Steve, is the usual MSBH.com style of 'help''.
I can't offer any advice but just the hope you manage to sort it out in the end.0
