Thanks for all the helpful information. I think I really have to go to the areas myself and see what they are like.

I keep thinking even the bad areas can't be much worse than Dagenham and I've lived here for years now.:rotfl:

I wonder did you make the move in the end? Where did you go for and how is it?? we are considering this yr looking also at Southchurch and parts westcliff.... Off researching area at weekend.

I did see your thread actually and was seeing what people were saying.:)

We didn't move in the end as I have had some health problems and we didn't want to overextend ourselves with a bigger mortgage.

My wife still has the Rightmove alerts set up so she is still keeping an eye. It does seem like prices are still rising there.
