Good point. There are some nice houses in those areas too. Be aware that the season tickets are more expensive than the LTS line and there is no aircon on the trains on the great Eastern line though.

I'd avoid Rochford myself especially since the airport expansion; and Hockley is better than Rayleigh IMO but not as nice as Leigh.

Here's one in the nice part of Central southend. Lovely views and close to station, seafront and shops. Quirky layout though you do get a roof terrace... Cambridge Road, Southend-on-sea

I work at Barking or Upminster so it has to be a C2C station. I will get a discounted train ticket as I work for London Underground so that isn't a big issue.

I've seen all those on RM apart from the last one which is really nice, especially backing onto woods. Leigh definitely looks the best area to me.

I saw that one and it looks good, I didn't realise that Southend had a conservation area but I looked at some of the neighbouring houses to that one and they were really expensive. It does have a weird layout though so might be hard to get used to.
