    Lloyds Banking Group

If someone has had a problem with any of the brands within a banking group, you often find that the other ones don't like you either! ;)

LBG = Lloyds Banking Group = Their cards do have Foreign ATM fees, so they're not better than Halifax, right?

Well I finally went and applied for this card on the basis of it's no fees for spending abroad and i got... declined!

I have a good credit history and the arbitrary number as given to me by experian is very high so i'm unsure as to why.

Annoyingly, I am not eligible for the Post Office credit card for some reason and I am not able to re-apply for the Halifax Clarity card until April because of recently having a different Halifax credit card. This leaves me pretty stuck for having a card where I can spend abroad for free.

I guess my next step is Aqua Rewards, but I don't fancy risking getting rejected again for what would be such a small credit limit.

OR i could pay £24 for a lloyds avios rewards card but a card with a yearly fee seems like it would defeat the object.

    annoyed!

My Everyday card arrived yesterday and I rang today to get it validated.

Answering a question upthread, it is not a contactless card so requires a PIN. (Mine has not yet arrived.)

BTW, the authorisation line is an 0871 number. We never call those. Seek and ye shall find an alternative number. ;)

Is this card only available to people who have been pre-selected?

Once I click through to apply where you enter your name and postcode, nothing happens.

    1. Lloyds Banking Group owns various banks.
    2. The two main banks that it owns are Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland.
    3. Halifax is part of Bank of Scotland.
    4. The individual banks issue the cards, not the group.

    Presumably.

    It does say:
Please ensure the details you enter match those in your mailing pack.

Apparently not as their website wasn't working properly when I called them to ask.

I did however manage to apply in the evening and was accepted: 5k limit at 12.9%. I already have a card with Halifax so wasn't able to get the Clarity but this will do nicely for my upcoming trip to USA. Cheers OP

The first two non-GBP transactions with my Everyday card are showing in my online account and are indeed at 0% foreign exchange fee.

They have an interesting way of showing this: they show what is presumably a fee-inclusive sterling conversion and separately a 'foreign fee reversal' to achieve the net amount. This makes it easier to compare with what other cards would charge.
