I must say that i quite favour them. I prefer the knowledge that my 'investment/gamble' is safe and can ne withdrawn at any time.

Personally i would strongly recommend that it's certainly something worth considering.

I have held some bonds since 2004. I don't look at them as an investment, more as a gamble like the lottery in the hope that one day it could be me! lol, but with the knowledge that I can get my money back when I want to unlike the lottery where that £1 per ticket is gone forever.

I have won a few small, £25 & £50 prizes over the last few years, but more interesting is my most recent win. I hadn't had anything for probably a year and then won £25 in June 2010. In July 2010 I won £25 again, I checked which bonds had won it and imagine my surprise to find it was the previous month's £25 win!
What are the odds on that? Must be a billion to 1 to win a prize with the £25 prize from the previous month!

So with eternal hope, I will keep my finger's crossed that one of the big prizes might come my way one day ;)
  • Come on Ernie... Im overdue a win now.... However small!!!!

The 25 pound reinvested prize I received in June 2010 won a prize in August for me. Its strange how two reinvested prizes won again so soon
