In my local rag today, there's an article about what would be "the car of nightmares", and apparently it's going to be built for exhibition purposes.
Here's the components:
Engine - BMW M5 (years 04-11)
Axle and Suspension - Audi RS6 (02-11)
Gearbox - Jeep Grand Cherokee (06-)
Electrics - Mercedes-Benz R-Class (04-)
Braking system - Fiat Multipla (99-05)
Air con - SEAT Alhambra (96-)
Steering system - Chrysler 300C (05-)
I was interested to see BMW, Audi and M-B on the list!
Thoughts?

I'm interested to see the Chrysler 300C steering system on the list.
I drive one and there is nothing wrong with the steering. The 300c is prone to steering rattles at at medium to high mileage but the fix is a simple track rod end replacement. Not particularly expensive and easy to to do.
Edit: Here's a link...

Because they're supposed to be "luxury" or "premium" cars, for the most part

Is this a list of supposedly the most expensive to repair taking in to consideration their cost to remedy rather than highest rate of fails? Otherwise they should add a renault clio bonnet catch, audi TT instrument pod and range rover keyless entry.0

The real question is if they'll fit in the body of a Yaris.0

That M5 engine is a work of art, but it's pretty much a race engine.
You wouldn't want anything to go wrong out of warranty, and it's very very thirsty.
A 5.0 litre V10 that revs past 8K and puts out 100bhp per litre is going to be highly strung0 -

I can remember the years something like 90s and 00s but Mercedes had a terrible reputation.
South African built does that say premium to you?0 -

No, it does sound like something he would say, but I've tried applying it in an accurate way0
