Calling in day number 4 (and 4 in a row for me) already, as I'm in pjs and the door is locked so no chance of sly spending!

I'm prepared that I'll need to spend tomorrow on a few things, and will probably be spending from Thurs - Sun as I'm away at the weekend, but this will all be covered in my weekly budget.

Hope everyone has had a good day. I really get a lot of motivation from seeing so many people trying their best to not spend in this thread. We're all amazing!
  • Good evening!

Wrap up warmly please. It's cold out there, and we have a big shindig on tonight,as it's Bonfire Night!

Ennessdee Towers has been decorated in pink'n'sparkly knitted cobwebs, thanks to the hard working Knit Witch...actually they date from Halloween.Nargle just hasn't had a chance to take them down yet.

Igor, meanwhile, has done us proud. The culinary theme this year is a subtle infusion of turnip. So,we have turnip hotpot, chunky turnip chips, turnip surprise (no turnip) served with rice, turnip punch. For those of you with a sweet tooth, why not tuck into a toffee turnip, treacle turnip toffee or his new yummy turnip cheesecake....ok,that's enough with the turnip!

Hubert is dressed up to the nines, and is planning a duet with one of The Good Old Boys, which is scheduled just before the fireworks.

The bonfire is waiting to be lit. Please, all men named 'Guy',stay inside. We just managed to divert an awful kerfuffle....Igor gets a glint in his eye when near matches...

Kerri is not too pleased.Someone nicked her pole to chop up and add to the bonfire.

Marmite is in charge of the fireworks, and later on,will head off home to have a nervous breakdown...If you hear a weird screeching sound, someone hasn't trodden on the cat's tail,it's Hubert mellifluous tones....

The classic problem - to count OH's spends as a spend or not. I can't control what he spends, however it was out of OUR budget. In fact it was ALL of our budget...all of our remaining food budget, for the entire month...and it's only the 5th today!

Oh no, how annoying - did you know he was going shopping and will it cover you for the month or is it random carp? I expect he was trying to be helpful - perhaps in future (depending on who tends to plan and cook) you could have a running list on the fridge or something of items that need purchasing?

    .

That menu sounds stangely edible  and yes, we need to have a whip round for a new pole please :D

No NSD here, bought exciting things like toilet roll and an SD card for OH - wild times ahoy! :p
