I always slice them and put them on HM pizza, or have them raw in a cheese sarnie. Red Onion Marmalade is when I have plenty but I never seem to have a glut of them they get used up too quickly in my houseBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

There's no rush to use them up if have somewhere dark and cool to store them. I use them in anything which requires ordinary onions or shallots. I wish I'd come across a five-kilo bag in Asda, I bought a load of 750 gramme nets when they were on offer for 29p and have been using a lot of them in my soup-making recipes as I make at least three batches a week for my lunches0

we put red onions in homemade salsa and have with fajitas. Any leftover salsa is had with salad/with bacon the following day! Scrummy!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0

You can store them in the garage or another coldish darkish place, for our home grown red onions. we keep them in old stockings/tights. feed one into the toe, tie a knot above it, feed another in- same again with the knot and repeat until full.
If you separate the onions with a knot, if one starts to rot, it wont affect the others next to it
HTH - we have stored onions since october, still fresh, just one went a little mouldy

Me too, I grow all my onions, red and white, and they keep really well in a cool place, lasting until April when I can start to use the Japanese onions which over winter.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......

Thanks for asking this OP and thanks for all the yummy suggestions. I have a bag of red onions that I got from Lidl for 30p and wasn't sure what to make with them other than use as i would normal onions. I'm contemplating making a tart of some sorts.
