Thanks for that link Valli, it may come in handy. Does anyone else have accumulated bits and pieces from various hobbies over the years that they no longer have any interest in but remember how much the stuff cost....?

I don't think I'll make jewellery or cards again big time, or play that bl00dy keyboard again, or do painting. My interests have changed but the cupboard of doom would suggest otherwise.

Anyway, this weekend has been mainly spent gardening. Once the rain cleared this morning I was able to plant the last of the bulbs so the garden is winter ready now really.

I've also hoovered through the house today, walked the dogs, spent an hour in the gym and made a nice lunch.

So...it must be time to read the paper.

    Have a great afternoon everyone.

The local scrap store has done rather well out of my cupboard of doom and the  about the cost was deflected and defeated by the virtuous feeling of taking it down there where I know it'll do some good.

I have, however, been hankering after the cross stitch stuff that has been lurking in the attic for several years. The need for something to occupy my hands when I'm watching TV has resurfaced and I find doing it incredibly soothing for some reason. Once the sewing stuff has been tidied away I'm going to let myself play with the cross stitch stuff again.

I've let OH play with washing up liquid and a scrubbing brush on the sundeck. It's a lot less slippery than it was.
    Better is good enough.

Last night's gales kept me awake - and I was waiting for DD and friend to come in too. As a result, rather tired this morning, so switched off alarm and went back to sleep for an hour.

Weather not very nice here, lots of wind and rain, so lazy morning, reading and knitting - and I cleaned the bathroom too in a sudden burst of energy.

I'd like to carry on with the redecoration of the bathroom this week, started some months back and then abandoned. Unless the sun shines, in which case I'm on the allotment.

Sunday lunch today had that strange cross season selection of vegetables - last of summer courgette and French beans, first of winter leeks and Swiss chard.

Yesterday afternoon I cleared 2/3 of bed, and want to finish so that I can sow broad beans, peas and garlic. I bought them in favourite local nursery yesterday afternoon, along with some Tete a Tete daffodils to grow in pots in the greenhouse. I saw some crocus Dorothy bulbs there too and I think I may plant them in bowl for my Dad for Christmas (it's my mother's name).

More knitting planned for this afternoon. I have doll's clothes to finish for friend's daughter, and a pair of socks for another Christmas gift. Next, I plan to start some owl pattern socks for DD, which I've been putting off for a year now, as they are beaded , which I've not done before, AND from a chart, which I've done very little. A challenge!

Katiecat A difficult situation for you - I had assumed he'd already gone. Hugs.

Ok, had a bit of a catch-up this weekend. If it's not done by now it'll have to wait for next week's lists to come round again.
    • Steam-mopped the kitchen floor
    • Cleaned the phone, which was thick with dust! :o
    • Washed the fridge
    • Took my old radio to the rubbish tip (or recycling centre I think it's now called!)
    • Tested the smoke-alarms. One of them started making a couple of random beeping sounds a while ago but then stopped. Maybe we've woken it up! Will keep an eye on it in case it means it needs a new battery or something (it's mains-powered)

I've got no oomph today! I will get on and do the supper soon and then hopefully call it a day.

Wow to those people who've got their xmas shopping done :T, I've not started buying things yet!

Thanks for the link, Valli I made a start on sorting DH tool cabinet so it's all organised but I don't need all the contents. This would be perfect! Then I can give the cabinet itself to my step dad (he has enough tools of his own my mum would go made if I gave him these too!)

Laundry all put away. Party attended. De-gibbling done. I have a small pile of papers and post to sort tonight but fairly organised other than that.

Fish is out for tea - not sure with what yet. I might just have veg. Ooh, ratatouille! Kids can have crusty bread and some veg.

Training day tomorrow so MIL has just arrived for babysitting. Will go make her a brew...

    Spent today fighting MOULD :(

My bottom drawer was attacked so I had to throw away most of my dance wear :(:(

2 bin bags filled for tip
2 bin bags for cs (not mouldy as wouldn't send that)

We had to tip up our bed and clean under the bottom. Floor was clean as I have been keeping up with it.

Bin bag of cuddly toys are now dry and aired for CS

A few items have sold on ebay and FB site.

I have updated my toots list x

DH, DS2 and I went for a walk as the weather improved. I was pleased about this as the next door house builders have removed the guttering and didn't replace it so the rain was causing a mini flood. DS1 has gone to an old friend's house.

I need to pack Ds2's PE kit and lunch box before I forget. Also cook tea.

Adopting Valli's looking on the bright side. My house will soon be clutter freeish :)

I'd come specially to see the ratties, if I lived near enough.:o

I hope the visit to the vet went ok - what type of critter do you have?:o If I were you, I'd just chill for today; read the thread, get to know some of us [STRIKE]madwomen[/STRIKE]Flyladies, and start in earnest tomorrow.;)

I've made quiche for today's and tomorrow's dins, got the BM on as I type, done a towels'n'hankies (ie hot) wash in the WM, and put the HM mincemeat into jars and made labels for it. Also did HHWiiFit.

Aw thank you :) I have got a working cocker, she is beautiful (if I do say so myself) and full of mischief! Anyway, she's got a poorly eye so they've given some drops and said to come back Monday if it's no better - fingers crossed we won't need another trip tomorrow!

And YUM to the quiche! x

I feel your pain, dancemum. Whoever designed our block of flats thought it was a good idea to have the bathrooms without windows, so fighting mould in there is a constant struggle, as it doesn't get enough ventilation.

I blitz it with HG mould spray, but it's got bleach in it so maybe not so suitable for places where you keep your clothes.

Cycled to town to get a few bits and for a bit of fresh air and exercise. Nearly time to do dinner and feed mogs. I will then have to finish the paperwork so we can eat dinner at the table.

Well done on decluttering, though I'm sorry to hear that your dance clothes have fallen victim to the mould.

Sounds yummy! I am making a conscious effort not to buy fruit and veg with enormous air miles and instead am trying to cook seasonal stuff from the British Isles (or, at a pinch, other parts of Northern Europe) but I must admit to a failing to stop eating strawberries at the end of the UK season - the ones I bought yesterday only hopped over from the Netherlands, though.

I had hoped to take up knitting again and have done odd bits, but it hurts my shoulder if I try to knit a lot. Maybe I will find the cross-stich patterns and make a few little Christmas cards for special friends and family. Most of the cards in the shops are just not my taste.

We went out to a garden centre late morning and used a £5-off-£15-spend token to get a dozen mini-cyclamen, a pot of white nerines (one in full flower), a sedum and a couple of other rock plants. A friend from the Old Wives gave me back 6 hyacinth bulbs that I had bought for the Christmas carol-singing pots for the housebound folk, so I have planted everything out in the garden and also swept the last of the ash leaves off the lawn :)

I have also found 6xgreat-grandfather's will online (he died in 1739) :D
