Done this hundreds of times, often to the annoyance of other drivers. Not my fault they aren't bright enough to think of it first and would rather waste their life queuing. Same as at roadworks rather than queue for a mile or two i'll stay in outside lane and then get in when i have to, usually infront of some bloke half asleep in a Mondeo. I do it rather more successfully than that video of a focus the other day.
I love it when people like you do this. I refuse to let them in and drive close to the car in front (ready to brake if needed) so they can't get in. If they force their way in then they'll hit my car which will be their fault.
I love it when they come to an abrupt stop because they can't get in, although it does sadden me when someone does eventually let them in.We’ve had to remove your signature. If people did this then there would be chaos at some roundabouts - I'm pretty sure they could get you for "something" as it's a deliberate act to improperly use the roundabout.

 Signals and position
When taking the first exit to the left, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise
signal left and approach in the left-hand lane
keep to the left on the roundabout and continue signalling left to leave.0

No must in that rule or link to the road traffic act making it an offence within itself to do.0

I'd love to be stopped by some jobsworth copper for doing this.0

... 'and eff you too Jimmy' .... what an attitude. You are the type of individual who ends up on the wrong end of road rage and 'wonders why'. You are actually preventing other drivers from carrying out the advice in the Highway Code so are certainly driving without due care and consideration. But one presumes you haven't read the highway code recently or maybe at all. Others will spell it out if needed. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

            Inconsiderate driving ?
I wouldn't consider it jobsworth as lots of vehicles doing this could quite easily jam up the roundabout if the left hand exit is slow moving - hence inconsiderate.0

How is it improperly using the roundabout?
They enter the roundabout in the right hand lane, turning right (so they are in the correct lane for that)
They stay on the roundabout in the right hand lane and continue around it again in the correct lane and observing all highway code rules.
They then exit the roundabout having indicated before the correct exit.
Where is there anything that is not using the roundabout correctly? I'm really intrigued as to what offence has been committed. I can see if they were in the right hand lane and turned left, but that is not the case as explained by the OP.Mrs_Boo_Boo wrote: »Crikey. Not ever done this deliberately, but when lost on which way to go on roundabout, done it loads of time. Sometimes the signs off the roundabout are better than the ones coming up to it.
 Didn't know it was wrong.
Same here, I would really like to know what the offence is supposed to beRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

Of course the other explanation is that they suspected something more serious was going on (drink driving or something) but soon realised that was not the case and had to think of something to say to you!0
