Any properly-engineered, modern car will reach 200k fairly easily.
I've ran a Nissan Primera to 270k, and currently own a Mitsubishi on 170k. Both petrol engined.0 -

You said high revving inline 6 though, which 3 series non M is this?0 -

330i. This was my last BMW before the M. It was the N53 variant pumping out 272 HP. The most powerful naturally aspirated inline 6, non-M car BMW have produced.0 -

Ah thought you meant that one, but the high revving description threw me.
Compared to my diesel I suppose it's fairly high revving.0 -

At stock it revs to 6800 rpm, but after ecu remap it revved to 7200 rpm. I have a dyno graph if you want me to PM you that0 -

Sound like a line from a certain Clint Eastwood film ...
Should have followed it with a ' well do ya - punk ?"0 -

Whilst I can't remember what mine revs to, that doesn't sound particularly "high", rather than within the "normal" for a petrol car. Doesn't a VTEC need to be at over 6krpm to kick in?0 -

Unless you are talking about the Honda S2000, normal VTEC's don't kick in at 6k rpm. The standard VTEC Honda engines on accords and civics Rev to around 6k and the s2000 (more of a race engine) revs to 9k.
My M3 revs to 8300 rpm0 -
Darkmatter you're a proper boy racer aren't you?
Nobody needs that many revs for normal driving in this country

And yet still no-one cares.
When you say high revving, most of us assume you mean high revving (9k+), not slightly higher revving than most but way behind the curve (~7k).
Edit: I looked up my grandad-mobile, max power is supposedly at 6800rpm, with a max of 7300rpm out of the factory. I wouldn't have even called that high revving, but then I've rarely taken it anywhere near the redline.0
