Cpp parking fine notice have blue badge

I was visiting St Mary's hospital in Manchester to register the Still birth/death of my baby boy.
Parking is always really bad even with a BB.
I parked on double yellow lines without any markings on the kerb itself.
Came outside and myself and two other BB holders cars had been issued a notice.
This was around mid September and I've also received another one recently advising I had not paid and......blah!!
Now I have a relative whom works in a quite senior role within councils.
Just informing people that this is not a "Formal" fine and is therefore not enforceable.

So very sorry to hear of the sad news about your son - not an easy time for you, and the very last thing you need is a scummer's grasping fingers in your pocket trying to steal your money at a very sensitive time.
I'm not clear where you are with the charge, but let us know and we will be able to guide you in avoiding it.
Have you considered letting your local press know about this? You also need to send a very strongly worded letter to the hospital's CEO.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

From advice, very trusting advice, I am going to just ignore letters coming in and when they start talking about legal action, if they do, I will still ignore and then talk with my advice person.
Thank you,

Your advice person knows nothing. But you just do that

Really?? He is a director for a council in the uk and has a degree in consumer law and was rather senior Trading Standards officer so...
Thank you for your opinion it has been noted.0 -
Please read the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top of this sub-forum. The advice within that thread is far better than you will get from anywhere else - degree in consumer law or not!
Trading standards should have been onto these parking companies years ago, but for some reason they refuse to act. Perhaps you could do a little prodding in that direction?0 -
This site is dedicated to helping people with parking tickets on private land. The advice for this has been for two years now, do not ignore, do not pay.
For the best advice on how to deal with council issued tickets you should visit pepippo.com as they are the experts in their field. Getting tickets beaten at the appeals stage is always so much easier than doing it in court, so I respectfully suggest you ask the good people of peppipo for their opinions.
I mean no disrespect but this site has seen too many people believing the advice they have been given by well meaning friends only to end up in court when a couple of emails could have stopped the process in its tracks.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

@dvtrv - we've been dealing with thousands of people with private parking charges day in, day out. The former advice to 'ignore' these PCNs expired 2 years ago with the introduction of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.
There is now a fairly simple 2 (template) letter process that gets rid of this from your life. Yes, you can ignore the PCN, but you will suffer months of letters from the PPC and its debt collection agency, with the possibility of hassling phone calls and a further possibility of the PPC taking you to the small claims court at any time - and for the next six years! Or you can put it all to bed in 6-8 weeks, done, dusted and forgotten.
Your relative/advice person may well be magnificently qualified in consumer law, but I'd ask him how many private parking charges has he successfully guided random people through?
And, despite his qualifications, I'd pit myself against him any day (as would all other regulars on here) in getting you through this successfully. We've dealt with thousands!
But, your decision, your choice. Good luck whichever way you decide to go.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

You have your trusted advisor, of course. Most PPCs don't do court, some do. Here is just 1 example for you to read.

So the statement that these charges are not enforceable is not 100% correct. Try asking him what his take on this is.
Here is just 1 day's old court listings

Every day some PPC has a court case going on. But, of course, they are never enforceable, are they?
Your friend is, most regrettably, misinformed.0 -
Shocking advice from him then - things changed two years ago, it's not the same game now as it used to be!Really?? He is a director for a council in the uk and has a degree in consumer law and was rather senior Trading Standards officer so...
You need to complain to the facilities Manager and PALS. Don't ignore it. Not a good plan, if you are relying upon the say-so of a 'relative in the Council' who is clearly not in a position to comment! Parking firms do sue over these and keepers can be 'liable' and some Judges DO consider these 'enforceable'.
Why risk it? Complain (maybe get your relative to lend weight to your complaint if they can?) and get it cancelled and next time read the Newbies thread near the top of the forum, it's there to help people appeal and win (you would have had this done and dusted by now if you'd followed our advice). We agree they are not formal fines but your relative is hopelessly wrong if they think these should be ignored. Please tell him to read what we are saying - is he not familiar with the POFA 2012 and POPLA?
So sorry to hear about your lovely little boy - RIP.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
