She did put all info in PIP2 when she sent back ,according to her the assessor told her he read about her and saw her forms and evidence before he goes to her house.
Hmm seems to me that she was tricked. His "Mr Nice Guy" approach probably didn't do your friend any favours. The reason they ask the questions is to confirm what you wrote on the form is true.

You mean its good sign ?
I would say his "friendly approach" is a bad sign. Your friend will just have to wait until the decision is made. Hopefully your friend sent in lots of evidence for E.G letters from Consultants, Dr's etc.

Unfortunately ESA is completely different to PIP. Being in the support group won't help your claim for PIP. People claim PIP and still work.

Surely someone who is genuine would not be able to 'slip up'.
Dont agree with that statement at all
My Hubby IS 100% genuine if he is asked straight questions about how his disability affects him he would still struggle to give a straight answer but its more likely to be what is actually going on with him than if its a friendly chat, he can appear normal to anyone that doesn't know him,and talk for England which may appear to others as being normal when infact everything he is talking about is what he thinks he should do or be capable of doing where as in reality he is not the person he thinks he is!
for example, In conversation I know he would say he goes shopping in reality if there is no disabled parking space he wouldn't be able to go at all if he is lucky enough to get a space he clings onto the trolley all the way round the shop and often the racking as well to stop himself from falling, it takes him over a hour to go round a small aldi and get a bottle of milk and if I dare to ask him for more than one thing then i get numerous calls from the shop as he has forgotten what to get! And on top of that he sometimes has to sit on the floor if his legs give way waiting for the feeling to come back in them, there is a HUGE difference between what is said on a friendly chat and what a medical f2f is
He has also took part in market research on phone calls and has had no idea he has even took part in them its just been some one that phones here for one of those friendly chats!
His f2f is tomorrow ( 49 weeks after application ) hope he gets a medical approach rather than a friendly chat!

I have to disagree with this somewhat.

If you look at the descriptors for ESA Support group then the majority of them would also meet the PIP descriptors for care/mobility.

It wouldn't be the rates of PIP; but the actual descriptors.

The problem there is not the assessor but your husband trying to hide his difficulties. He needs to understand that the assessor needs to hear the reality of his situation.

There is one thing that a lot of people always make the mistake on when going for the f2f assessment and that's thinking it's a MEDICAL when it's CERTAINLY NOT. What it actually is, is an assessment to see what you can and can't do in daily life. The assessment providers are not Doctors and they can't give a diagnosis of any kind so it's clearly not a medical. If you go with your hubby tomorrow then please remember that it's not a medical. Good luck.
