Hi, They would have looked at he form that was filled in when the person first applied for PIP and asked the questions based on that. If your friend didn't put anything down on the form about dressing etc then if they have difficulty doing that because of depression they should have wrote it down. PIP isn't about the condition itself, it's about the difficulties a person has with daily life. When the decision is made if it's bad news and your friend wasn't awarded anything then he/she has 28 from the date of the letter to ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration.Hello,my friend had strange PIP assessment at home with Capita, she saying they didnt ask her any questions about how it affect her all they asked why she got depression and anxiety and her sleeping problems can she remember taking medicatin, they didnt ask her about other main problems like cooking and dressing etc....,she saying the Capita person was friendly and told her wait for result few weeks and they complete report later and told her its sad see her suffering from depression and the assessment lasted 1 hour mostly just talking to her not asking many questions, she been on DLA on lower rates, but she realy worry now about her PIP result. can this be good or bad sign of her strange PIP assessment ?and is there anyone who got PIP for depression?thanks0 -
Maybe this new friendly approach is the new way to go. I had a second Atos medical about a month ago. The first last year went exactly as all the reports you see on the news, but this time the doctor just chatted to me for an hour, then said well it was nice meeting you you'll be hearing from us. I had no sort of examination. A few weeks later i got a call saying i needed to go and sign-on for Js.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

The question is regarding PIP not ESA. They are completely different.Maybe this new friendly approach is the new way to go. I had a second Atos medical about a month ago. But it's still the approach taken by the Dwp to make decisions. They've been under a lot of criticism for trying to get people off benefits.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I really don't want to put a damper on things but your friend may not have realised how 'friendly' conversation can actually tell the assessor so many things without having to ask her direct questions.
Putting people at ease is a great skill which can lead people to 'let slip' about how they live their lives.
On the other hand the conversation may have confirmed exactly what she wrote on the application.
Nothing to do but wait.0 -

She did put all info in PIP2 when she sent back ,according to her the assessor told her he read about her and saw her forms and evidence before he goes to her house.0 -

Surely someone who is genuine would not be able to 'slip up'.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
That was my thoughts too but i didn't like to say anything. DaveTheMus the whole point of the assessments is the catch out the ones that aren't genuine because believe it or not they are out there and it ruins it for those who are genuine.pmlindyloo wrote: »I really don't want to put a damper on things but your friend may not have realised how 'friendly' conversation can actually tell the assessor so many things without having to ask her direct questions.
