Thanks for all replies peeps. I think I'm put off. Not really into spending loads of time on hair that I'll probs be sick of.
My hair is too short for clip in ones too at the mo.0 -

Does anyone have any recommendations for the edinburgh area. i stay in east lothian so cant really travel further than edinburgh."I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. Hello crazyposhgal
I'll move your thread to the 'Health & Beauty' board, where it should get more responses.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.
If you're not getting responses after a few days, you could ask the Board Guide to move your thread to the 'Scotland' board.;)

make sure you go to a proper place, otherwise they will look cheap and tatty.Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.0

I asked the same question a few weeks ago and the advice received pretty mush stated a no go, that it's a bad idea to get hair extensions. So, I'm going with the masses in saying DON'T DO IT!!!0

don't do it, they make me think of pete burns! his might be real hair though... not sure.0

i had hair extensions done twice- the first time a friend did it for me, and after a couple of weeks, i ended up with globs of glue stuck to my real hair and had to take the extensions out- i should also add that it took almost a whole bottle of vegtable oil to get the glue out of my hair.
the second time i had it done in a salon, as i thought the bad experience from teh first time might be down to the fact that it wasnt done by a professional if you know what i mean- same thing happened again after a few weeks. not only that, i managed to 'lose' part of them one night when my oh and i were in the throes of passion!
i dont know how the plaiting one works, maybe that way is better. i was actually told recently that it would have been better for me to go to an afro-carribean hairdresser as they have a lot more experience with extensions on the whole so that might be worth looking into?2011- new year, new start.

I've just had my hair extensions re-done and my real hair that has been left out on the top looks really noticeable. The only way I can disguise it is to tie half of my hair up. I'd really like to leave it all down but what can I do with my real hair to make it less noticeable?
Any advice much appreciated.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
I'm thinking about paying for a hairdresser to put hair extensions in. Are they "safe" and are they worth the money? Also, can they be washed when normal hair is washed and how long do they last?
Any advice would be appreciated.0 -
Hi,I've had hair extensions for just over a year now.
Mine are the bonded type and last 3-4 months.
The quality of the hair is just as important as the quality of the extensionist- make sure you have Remy hair as its good quality !
Yes, you can wash it just like normal hair, although you do have to be carefull which shampoo you use,as it can soften the bonds.
I love my extensions, and have found that my natural hair is in fact in better condition than before as I'm not using my straighteners as much on it.
I think that probs can occur if you've got very fine hair, as the weight of the extensions can put tension on your scalp - but any good extensionist should give you a consultation first.
Hope this helps. Anymore questions please ask0
