  • People like that don't care for other people's feelings at all. They think their time is more important than yours.

If she's late again, just go without her.

I doubt she's deliberately doing the opposite of what you ask - she's probably just completely unaware or unconcerned that you have plans, obligations or opinions. Most people move on from that level of self-centredness when they leave their teens and those that don't find friendships tend to end abruptly.

Please don't let it stop you from helping anyone else - most of us are nice considerate people who'd appreciate your kindness! :)

It may be that your friend does not realise the impact of their actions. You need to let them know how you feel and if they are a real friend they will be mortified and it will never happen again.

Next time, say that if she isn't there at 3pm, she'll have to make her way home because you'll need to go to be on time to pick up your kids. If she can't adhere to it, tough!

  • So, explain that you will be at your car by 3pm (or whenever) and leaving then as you have other committments. If she isn't there on time, leave without her. You don't have to be nasty about it, just go when you say you will.

Having to catch a bus might focus her mind.

Sounds like a selfish brat, I wouldn't bother giving her lifts in the future. If she asks why just be honest and tell her it is because she is too unreliable about meeting up when you need to leave.

However, you must be nicer than me as I wouldn't wait half an hour if children needed collecting.
  • Why are you still friends?
