family visits / working full time

Hi ...thanks for all the great suggestions...think the starting point is to work out what we need as a family, otherwise we will meet ourselves coming backwards!
Unfortuantly non of the splits were amicable so have to think who can tally up with who...although GP's alternate visits between our home & tgeirs it still ends up being a full day at the weekend

You'll make a rod for your own back if you try to please everyone. And it will be increasingly stressful. And it will only get harder and more complicated as the family continues to grow
Accept that if your family doesn't live within 20 miles or so of you then visits won't be that frequent. But the flip side is that well planned, less frequent visits will be much more special and meaningful, leaving you precious time for your own family time
Let's face it, if it was Christmas everyday then it wouldn't be very special at all. Same principle for visiting family0
