Thanks everyone for the suggestions - He's actually provided me with a list! This is the first time ever for a present giving occasion that he's given me any sort of indication !!
Some of the things are a bit hopeful though0 -
I do a stocking with little bits in every year for dh - things like toiletries, socks, star wars lego pen or keyring (yes he is a big kid
) then usually a biggish present. Last year was a digital radio. Not a clue this year though!

In the past I've dressed up as Santa and rung the door bell and delivered a pizza, only it was tickets to Rome.
Tickets to Paris, various weekends away, super car racing, they're tickets, we both tend to give presents to do something rather than use if that makes sense.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Instead of giving each other gifts this year we are going to buy a year's National Trust family membership - this cost is the same as our agreed combined spends anyway and this way we get lots of family time together to look forward to. We'll also get each other small token gifts from our Amazon wish lists to unwrap on the day and I'll get him some posh shortbread (his favourite snack). And if he doesn't buy me any fudge he'll be in trouble£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

I'm usually quite good at going online and finding quirky gifts for OH. Last year I got him a man mug (with spirit level and pencil built-in), an engraved log store for the log burner he's always talking about, a beer bell (wee bell that says 'ring for beer', this was fun on Christmas day because I got a wine bell from his mum so we were ringing them all day and the other one had to run to the kitchen every time it went), a keyring with our anniversary engraved on one side and day we moved into our first house on the other side, big box of sweets (parma violets, dib dabs, cola bottles, those sherbet space ship things), pyjamas, hoodies... other nick-nacks which I can't remember now.
Anyway, most of them except one hoodie and the pyjamas are still in their packaging unopened upstairsSo I'm a bit stumped this year. I don't want to buy him anymore things that I think are quite unusual but he obviously thinks are useless tat!

I've got my husband a couple of light books from Amazon. Anything weighty tends to get ignored or forgotten - but these look like they'll provide a bit of fun on the day (and keep him away from choosing what's on tv)
How to Make Your Cat an Internet Celebrity - because he doesn't like the cat, and will enjoy the thought of it supporting us financially
The Christmas Football Quiz Book, Joke Book, Fact Book - because he loves football and this looks to be a fun, safe choice (i.e. not about a player he may or may not like for totally irrational reasons)
Good choices?0
