What do you get your boyfriend/ husband for Christmas?

I know this has been asked a million times previously but I'm struggling.
The suggestions online are often quite thoughtless and are basically a perfume or an xbox game!
So I'm wondering what you ladies/gents are giving for your husband of boyfriend for Christmas (or have done in previous years) - usually suggestions from real people are much more inspiring!

This year I have a couple of vouchers for him and I am putting them in the pockets of a new hoodie and packing a few other bits and pieces around them.
I keep an eye on things like treat ticket and groupon for offers on things I know he will like eg paintballing, off road segway, coasteering etc Or offers at restaurants he might like ( those are good as we get to enjoy it) They do some good ones for short breaks too.
There are some great suggestions on the hamper thread if you feel like making him one. You could theme one around a hobby eg golf or a favourite food.0 -

Ah this is a great idea Calcat, I hope he enjoys it
I hadn't heard of treat ticket, so will have a look there. I'm lurking on the hampers thread :cool:0 -
We don't go mad, just get little useful bits for each other and a few little treats.
This year I'm getting my husband a golf day, or giving him the money for a golf day so he can organise with his friends. His best friends play all the time DH works f/t then we are always busy with family things on a weekend, so I know he'll appreciate that. Plus we have new baby due in new year, so he'll get to play even less then!
Other than that, I've brought him a new wallet, some new tops, his fave choc and a couple of books I know he wants.Living as simply as we can

What does he like?
Previously I've bought Him Indoors, for Christmas/birthdays:
Gig tickets
Vinyl
CDs
Books
DVDs
Chilli plant
Little bits and bobs he likes as extras to the main gift, or things he needed but wouldn't think to buy for himself e.g. sweets, booze, spicy snacks, hot sauce, gloves, wallet.0 -
We do xmas eve boxes for each other as part of our presents, with pjs, hot choc and brandy, movie, popcorn etc.
Then I always get him tickets for something like a London show or stand up comedians, or get vouchers for a nice restaurant that we wouldnt usually go to. He always tells me he would much rather have experiences and days out for presents than material items.
I have already bought tickets for a show after Xmas and I will hide them in a toilet roll tube inside a jar and then surround it with his favourite pick and mix sweets (seen on pinterest)0 -

Nice idea but think I'd rather kitchen roll tube if it was near sweets.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Mine will get his knitted wool socks and a treat box of nibbly goodies unless I get richer in the next month. I doesn't help that his birthday is only 5 weeks before Christmas."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

My DP is having a magazine subscription from me as he constantly complains about the price of his magazine each month but loves reading it.
He is also having some CD's. He's quite old fashioned in the way that he would much rather have a physical collection of CD's rather than download the music and he is very into his 80's metal music so I have bought him 4 cds so far and his subscription.
Nearer to xmas when Aldi get's their offers and bargains on I will pick him up a bottle of Whiskey if they have any or a couple of bottles of red wine.
He will probably also get a t-shirt, again he likes his music tshirts and has lots of iron maiden t-shirts so I will hopefully find another to add to his collection.
He has a list written on our whiteboard at home of what CD's he would like to buy and I have taken a picture of that on my phone and carry it with me so if I am near a CD shop I can nip in. Most are second hand but he's always chuffed to bits as long as they play properly. He is now banned from buying any cd's until xmas.0 -
We put money into our holiday account. Quality time spent together is far better than pointless gifts......0

Thank you for the suggestions everyone,
Dave - we saved the spending money we haven't spent over previous holidays and it's enough to buy a holiday for next year if we want to, Christmas is a time we like to indulge.
Saying that I bought him an expensive piece of kit for his birthday so he knows it will be smaller things.
I love the presents hidden in the jar with the toilet/kitchen roll -I've just seen that on pintrest too!
He loves football but regularly attends matches of his team and we go to mine too - some sort of hospitality might be good though!
It's hard - I feel like he has everything he needs - it's not like girls where (some not all) would enjoy a candle or plant or something for the home. :mad:0
