Lender asking for birth certificate??

They'd have problems with mine. Last saw my natural father in 1975. Took stepfather's surname in 1983.

just an update on this
we handed my birth certificate and original deed poll to Kent Reliance yesterday morning (monday), my final mortgage offer has been given today (24 hours later) and its on the way to my solicitors, I got a PDF copy emailed to me.

'it's officially' over (I hope!) now just for searches to come back to solicitors and I will exchange/complete very soon within next 2 weeks :T
