I have a nice shower and use up the lovely shower gel I had from Christmas,:):):)
Only owned a dishwasher once and never even had it plumbed in (someone gave it to me as they were moving house) I kept all sorts of odds and ends in there until my neighbours DD said her's had conked out so I gave it away to her.

I rinse the filters out most days. I find that makes a huge difference as to how well it works. Other than that I don't actually clean the unit per se. We live in a soft water area so it's not necessary. It looks as shiny inside as the day we first got it.

Very hard water area , use salt ( always a good move ) rinse aid and clean using 'Finish' .

I think some people take MSE too far.

Do you "Clean" your washing machine?

Yes - in a way. I run it empty on the hottest cycle once a month.

tempted though I am to say I let him have a shower and was himself...I clean the filters every couple of days, wipe round the door seals which can get a bit bleugh and assume that given that it fills with very hot water and detergent at least once a day the inside is as clean as the dishes that come out of it
