This sounds like a super old-fashioned :money: tip :T , will give it a try - Just trying to work out how to do it tho  machine goes through a short drain cycle before hitting the washing cycles

Thanks for the Tip Jack's Mummy

I can't take the credit I read that tip somewhere on here about a year ago. If it is a drain cycle first then surly having it in a cup or some kind of container on the top shelf will be ok. It will only come out once the water fills the cup up and over flows. I know it sounds like not enough to do the job but it never fails for me.

I agree with michael52, we tried loads of things after our glasses and cups used to get gritty bits in them, now we rinse everything before putting it in the machine and havnt had that problem since. I also run it with a cup of white vinegar now and then as well.

Our dishwasher hasn't been cleaning properly recently

So I thought today I would try this

How To Clean Your Dishwasher With Vinegar (link to video)

Basically just add a cup of white vinegar and put it in dishwasher (empty) and put on hottest wash on full cycle

Just tried a load after and things seems better glasses look more cleaner
  • I'll add this to the existing thread on this subject ;)

In my DW guarantee it says the guarantee is invalidated if you clean it using vinegar

Well, you know how people try and open the fridge and catch the light off? I've just been opening and closing the DW door while it's running in the hope I could check that the arms are both revolving! Reason is that I took them off and not sure they are replaced correctly.

We're very lucky - we have a dog that gets to lick all the scraps and gravy off the plates and saucepans before they go in the DW.
Certainly saves having any solids in there, also saves having to cold rinse them (might as well carry on washing them up and not use the DW  ), but most importantly keeps the dog happy too! :j
