I'm having a similar problem so I would be glad to see a reply to this. Mine seems to have a dead spot on the bottom where thngs don't get washed, in fact they look exactly the same as when they went in and can be right next to something that gets cleaned! I've checked salt & RA, I've tried 3 different types of dishwashing product to see if that made a difference now using Tesco Value so at least its the cheapest that my pots don't get clean rather than Finish!
Update, just had an engineer here and seems the motor has been slowly dying which is why the dw hasn't been cleaning properly and a new problem that has arisen is that the heater is trying to compensate for motor and eventually got to a point where it was tripping the electric circuit as it was all a bit screwed. Anyway cut a long story short, not worth replacing the parts on our cheapo basic model therefore new dw arriving next week! Something I could do without at the moment but c'est la vie! Suppose I could live without a dishwasher but things aren't that bad and you do get used to the little things in life and luxeries become the norm very quickly don't they!!0 -
Anyone any ideas on how to get the dishwasher sparkling and clear the built up grease ?
I bought something fron Kleeneze about 6 months ago. Cant remember what it was called. It came in 2 sachets - one for the washing machine & one for the dishwasher.
The washing machine came up great. It removed all the built up soap powder and all the nastys accumulating round the rubber inside the door.
Unfortunately, I didnt get the same results on the dishwasher. I think it was because the instructions said to sprinkle it in the bottom and my dishwasher goes on a drain cycle first. I think it was all washed away before it had a chance to work.
Someone here must have a simple, cheap, easy alternative ???0 -
i just spray mine with antibacterial multi surface cleaner and wipe it down, its easier to get in the cracks of the door and the sealsspanky xx

I use a dishwasher cleaner from Finish, I get it from Homebase, it costs approx £3 for one treatment bottle, you open the tab and place it upside down in the machines cutlery rack and put the machine through a wash cycle. I treat once every 6 months or so, does the job nicely for me!Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. :A0

I just use a cup of white vinegar balanced on the top shelf in mine and set it on a hot wash. The bits around the door that go gungy I just wipe with some kitchen roll0

As it happens I am doing my washing machine and dishwasher today. I use a bottle of vinegar in each. Currently priced at about 60p a bottle, I think it's a cheap way to do the job. I use a whole bottle as I reckon it must get quite diluted with all the water??Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

White vinegar ??
Where do you put it ?
Do you just pour it in to the drum/bottom of the dishwasher, or, in the dispenser, or in a cup as Jacksmummy does ??0 -
