Let me guess.... do they still have super dooper 'laser scanners' that picked up the discrepancy?
  • So just to be clear, are they allowed to just charge my card? Or are they waiting for me to pay the invoice?

If they can just charge my card, is there anything I can do to stop them? From what I can see no charge is on my card yet....
  • And in response to the last question:

43x27x38cm = 10Kg Volumetric, ask them for the lasered measurements that accounts for the extra 6kg, as 16kg would make it 73x27x41cm [seriously quashed]

Yes, they will just take the money - if they have not yet, it will not be long.

In case I did not make it clear, they are the WORST PARCEL COMPANY I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with!!! Rude and arrogant when you dare question these so called additional charges too.

What happens if you dispute the payment?

And in response to the last question:

Yep, thought so. They scammed me 5 times out of money as I sent 5 large parcels to Australia, I added extra onto the weight and the sizes, the customer paid for postage and each one was more than I specified as per laser super scanner specifications (!!!!) they scammed me for over £120 on those parcels but only mailed me after the 5th was taken - by which time it was too late for me to look for someone else to use.:mad::mad:

As I say, my current 3rd party parcel company uses the same courier as Parcel Monkey and I have never been charged and I send so many things I am on a preferred rate now.

The quote the cheapest price to make you book and add the extra on later by quoting it was under sized. It's disgusting and needs to be stopped IMO. I am surprised that 3 years on they are still going, I'll be honest.
  • I don't know... But I have just checked and they still have not taken anything yet. So when you say dispute the payment, if you are referring to the additional payment then I guess at this stage there is nothing to dispute. I've got no idea whether I can call the CC company and block them taking the money. I guess I should give Santander a call and find out.

On the other hand though, I don't know if I might be breaking any kind of contractual agreement with Parcel Monkey if I do that.

    What a bloody pain!

Thanks for all the help though. At least something nice is coming out of this.

I don't know - maybe they will tell the card company that the goods were sent and pull up proof of delivery/collection?

With mine they took the money and then emailed me. I was beyond fuming and might have even posted something here at that time as I had not made a huge amount of money on the sale, the items were light but needed large boxes.

All we can do is warn others of potential problems when using this company to ship overseas.

Next time, check out worldwide parcel services, I have never had an issue with them and I can book up until 12pm for same day collection.
