My old dog was driven half mad every November & New Year until she went deaf and mostly blind about 3 years before her death at 17 yrs old.
It wasn't so much the bangs, which were bad enough, but the flashes that really frightened her. Of course it meant that thunderstorms became just as traumatic.
She would cry while trying to dig through the floor & squeeze into small spaces all while we cursed the thoughtless sods who were setting off the fireworks until about 2 a.m. for weeks either side of Nov 5th and N year.
I would have cheerfully gone round to visit those people with a shotgun  .

We had thick curtains to block out the flashes & I tried the plugins, but the best thing we found (until she went completely deaf and blind) was to play loud rock music at the first hint of a distant firework so that she was used to a rhythmic thumping by the time the fireworks got noisy. Of course we didn't get much sleep

We now have a cat who thankfully doesn't seem to be bothered by it all, but we do make sure he's in early every night during Autumn/Winter.

Recently had to put one cat down and discovered the remaining twin cat has an enlarged heart/ thickening of the muscle walls/ fast heart beat so will not be taking any chances therefore will be trying Zylkene 75mg on her. But I'm not sure when is the right time to give it to her in feed.

It says on the pack the capsule can be opened and the contents added to food.

Its easier for us just to get the dog to swallow the capsule in one go.I usually start to give him it a few days before bonfire night so it builds up in his system.
