Off street parking and adequate soundproofing between me and my neighbours.0

Secluded, prefreably rural with no neighbours for miles
Large Garden
2 bathrooms
3 bed, or 2 bed + study
Kitchen big enough for both of us to be cooking in
Second sitting room / conservatory
Nice to haves:
Decent broadband
Moat0 -
Good public transport if you're planning on staying there until you're old and doddery.
For me, my only really must have when moving was that it had to be within safe night time walking distance from a tube station. But I'm guessing that isn't on many people's list!0 -
Ha, I'm in North Wales, we don't have good public transport within 50 miles never mind walking distance.0

            My ideal home would be:
Detached house on decent sized and shaped plot, not directly overlooked front or back (not squeezed in somewhere on an overcrowded development). Plenty of natural light. Not ugly from the outside or on a depressing looking street.
4 bedrooms - two have to be doubles, main bedroom has to have lots of clothes storage space, two bathrooms (would settle for one).
Large lounge - enough room for two sofas, space for Xmas tree, and space for kids to play.
Dining kitchen, with nice view from sink, plenty of cupboard & worktop space, space for double oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine & tumble dryer.
Garage & driveway parking for two cars. On street parking also available. No shared driveway element/rights of way across the plot.
I haven't found all the above yet on my budget!
The other nice to haves, but things I could manage without would be:
South/west facing back garden
Utility room where laundry can be aired, preferably not a through route to another room/outside door, so can put laundry there and ignored til dry!
Nice views
Separate dining room
Short walking distance to school/shop/train station/pub/restaurant0 -
Large kitchen, downstairs toilet or at least two toilets, nice garden, quiet road and plenty of parking. The rest can be sorted in time.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I have 2 pre-schoolers, ages 3 and 4. We are moving house purely to get into the catchment area of one of the best schools in the area.
So must haves for this move...
-in the catchment for really good school
-large south-facing, not overlooked, secure garden
-4 beds
-garage with space for a chest freezer
.....thats all our must haves and there was not much out there that ticked those boxes!!0 -
