8 month old faulty TV and Currys?

How long ago did you contact Currys? They will probably want to contact Samsung to get a repair history on the TV, even if they get that they are likely to want to repair again and I'm sure they send things directly to Samsung for repair and don't do the repair themselves.
Technically as it is over six months since purchase they can insist that you prove the fault is inherent by getting an independent engineers report before doing anything to help you, if the report finds in your favour they would have to reimburse you for the cost of the report and repair, replace or refund (can be reduced to allow for the 9 months use). If the report doesn't find in your favour they don't have to do anything for you.
Samsung gave me the report of the original fault stating it was due to manufacturering processes, the replacement part carries the same fault so I would be happy to pay for an engineers report but who do I compalin to Currys, using SOGA or Samsung as the repair wasn't fixed?
I would be happy with either a repair or replacement but neither of these things are being offered to me

Did you point out this damage at the time of receiving the repaired television back? The fault was cracking around the frame of the screen they replaced the screen/frame (all one unit) with a 'new' screen which has scuffs and cracking as well.
In other words, is it possible that they could reasonably conclude that you caused the damage after the thing was returned?0 -

The TV was returned late at night, the delivery guy just left it for me then went, I noticed the damage about 10 minutes later - while connecting everything then email samsung straight away.
The damage is exaclty the same type as to before it being sent away which they said was a manufacturer fault.0 -
Well currys have refused to exchange and refused to repair they state I have to go to the manufacturer and that is their final response on the matter....time for trading standards and a small claim form to be filled me thinks...0

How did you pay for the TV originally. If by credit card then you could also claim from your card provider.0

It probably will be now you're claiming the manufacturer has damaged it.0 -

No I said the manufacturer replaced the screen/frame and that 'new' frame had the same damage.
Samsung said its a new part and shouldnt be damaged so they dont want to do anything further.
Sale of Goods Act means I take it up withthe retailer not the manufacturer.0
