    Thanks

    Good morning everyone :)

I'm trying to find a good deal for my partner and I. We're looking to go away to Madeira for over the New Year.

The Quote itself: £1,736 (£868 pp)
Who the quote is from: Thomson
Is there a booking fee: No
    The Tour Operator/Airline/Hotel: Thomson
    The departure Airport/Post: Gatwick
    The Holiday Dates: 27 December 2010 - 03 January 2011
The number of people travelling (inc kids ages): 2 adults, no kids
The Hotel (or * if it’s allocate on arrival): 4*
The Board (self catering/half board etc): B&B
    Any specific requirements: No
Is an in-flight meal included: No

I'm not fussed about the specific hotel (although the nicer the better! :) ), the two main things are that it's over new years eve (we're going for the fireworks!), and that it's as good a deal as possible.

We're not bothered about it being B&B either - if there's a good deal on FB or AI then we're happy to go for it (this was just the cheapest I could find so far.....)

We're in Berkshire, so Gatwick or Heathrow would be best, although Brum would be a possibility (or Southampton / Bournemouth - but I don't think any Madeira flights go from either of those!)

Thanks for looking and helping if you can!

    IW x

Can anyone beat this please? I can fly on the 26th Jan as well and would be okay with another hotel as long as it's near the centre as I am travelling alone.

    Thanks in advance

    • The Quote itself: no quote as such but 130euros per night plus flights (£600+) plus transfers (£no idea!)
    • Who the quote is from: Hotel itself
    • Is there a booking fee: No
    • The Tour Operator/Airline/Hotel: None
    • The departure Airport/Post: Any London (Stansted would be great)
    • The Holiday Dates: 3 Sep 2011 for 2 weeks (14 nights)
    • The number of people travelling (inc kids ages): 2 adults
    • The Hotel (or * if it’s allocate on arrival): Xenones, Lindos
    • The Board (self catering/half board etc): Self-catering
    • Any specific requirements: Additional luggage needed
    • Is an in-flight meal included: No
We've been quoted 130euros per night for the Captains House (sleeps 6) or a 4 person apartment, by Xenones direct. But we can't seem to track down any decent flights - most don't have their September 2011 schedules up yet for public consumption. Nor can we find the hotel on, say Expedia or other similar sites, beyond August 2011.

Would just like to know if any experts can find us a deal. The outgoing date of 3 Sep is absolute due to a wedding. If I've missed anything please let me know.

    Thank you in advance. x

ETA: I've just found Xenones via Travel Republic for about £1700 for 2 adults inc flight, for a 2bed internal view studio - which is an excellent price, but I can't see what TRs baggage allowance is and we really wanted a slightly larger studio so that the bridal party (5 people) could get ready on the day - which would be difficult in a 2bed studio!
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.
