Beat My Quote! Travel Agents Thread

I called a couple of travel agents with my quote and was up front with them that we had very little to spend - around £200pp - and what we had been quoted from Travel Republic.

They were all upfront and said they had nothing for that price so no-ones' time got wasted. Better all round methinks.

Flexible on dates is fine, but we will still need a date to work from???And how many nights is this for?

Sorry minxtress. Its for 14 nights and can go any time from Feb to June. Would prefer late April but if the price is cheaper earlier or later we will consider. Thanks

that sounds pretty reasonable, virgin actually made a mistake on the 2009 prices and charged £10 too less, they might have corrected it now, anyway I've been searching the web for 3 days and they are the cheapest UK distributor, attraction tickets direct will match any price for you, however if you want to go a different way then undercover tourist is an American outlet that will ship to the UK free of charge, and they are also pretty reasonable, but not with the current exchange rate so I'd wait a bit. also if you subscribe to the mousesavers.com news letter they give you a code to get tickets from undercover tourist even cheaper but i haven't tried this yet as I've only just subscribed. hope this helps we're hoping to go in 2009 also but not booked as of yet as we need to organise work and school times for 2 familys, the other half and i can't go during school holidays cos of my work but the brother in law has to go a little into that time cos of the kids so i think we're going to go over 3 weeks but each go for 2 so that only 1 week crosses, any more info you might need just pm me cos i've been 3 times and might have some random tips that might be usefull. We need to fly to Skiathos on 17th july for 2 weeks. Cheapest I can find is below, not bothered which airport in England we are flying from, we are based in the Midlands.
