  • Hope this is ok - just found this thread - looks really useful.

I don't actually have a quote, but got some specifications - tell me off if this is not allowed.

We (2 adults) are wanting to go to Carribean in April / May (cannot be away on the 2nd May) / June 2009 for 2 weeks, All inclusive from Manchester

Wanting a nice hotel (4* or above - or 3* with excellent reviews).

Been looking about for a while, but struggling to find any hotels that really grab our attention for a good price.

We went to Punta Cana, Dom Rep last year (not really wanting to Dom Rep again, unless it Punta Cana with a very low price tag).

Places we are thinking primarily are Cuba, Jamacia, Antigua or Barbados. Obviously we know the latter two will set us back a lot, but willing to pay more for these places if it is a good quote.

Any help would be great, and sorry again if this is not appropriate.

    Many thanks

    Yvonne

This is designed as a 'Beat My Quote' thread which ought to do what it says on the tin but aside from that, your query will potentially be missed by other people that could help.

I would suggest starting a separate thread and also giving some indication of the budget you have for various options as a starting point for others to try and assist you.

I have been to all of those islands and are all OK. Barbados is my favourite, and I have been this year.

At the end of the day, only you can decide. I would not recommend a destination or hotel, as everyone has their own requirements.
When I went to Barbados, my girl friend said we could be anywhere.
I am taking her to the Maldives this month, again AI, and hopefully she will appreciate that this could not be considered "anywhere".

At the end of the day day, YOU have to decide. Brochures are generally very accurate. TripAdvisor and similar are not perfect, but do give an idea of what to expect. And travel with a reputable company!
