  • Hello, wondered if you could look at my quote from Thomson...
I am trying to book a holiday for 2 families from different airports to the same hotel in Majorca. The details are as follows:
Family 1 : 2 adults, 1 x 3 year old and 1 x 2 year old travelling LGW to Palma 8th - 19th September, 2008. All inclusive at the Thomson Continental Park Hotel, Alcudia, Mallorca for £1518.

Family 2 : 2 x adults and 1 x 2 year old travelling GLA to Palma 7th to 18th September, 2008. All inclusive at the Thomson Continentel Park Hotel, Alcudia, Mallorca for £1266.

    Can anyone beat it?

    Many thanks, Broon73.

Actually speaking as a new member - I'm a travel agent who has PM'd people with quotes. I don't bother quoting if I can't beat a price as it is a waste of my time. However I've been a bit put off when I've quoted and don't even get an acknowledgement from the person I've been trying to help. Others have replied asking for more details and sounding interested but then nothing. I don't think it appropriate to chase bookings from this forum - the onus is more on the buyer here to book than the seller to push!

The quotes it is hardest to beat are those where you're just looking for flights - where an agent can really beat prices (and we can!!) is where you have at least 2 elements - i.e. flight plus accommodation (and then transfers or car hire on top sometimes). Gives us more to play with!

So my answer is I don't know if it works or not - but love any opportunity to show that we can beat the online prices and we're not out to rip anyone off, just make a living!!

Hi i was wondering if you could look at my quote £1500 14 nts, alcudia either Delfin Verde or iberostar. Fly from Newcastle 22nd July to 5th Aug 2 adults and 1 child aged 2. thanks in anticipation.

    Hi all,

    Looking for a holiday on 25th - 27th April 2008 for 1 week.

Really not bothered where we go / accomodation grade, but looking for the cheapest deal we can find for half board minimum but pref full board / all inclusive.

If anyone has any great deals please let me know. We can fly from any midlands or liverpool / manchester. There will be two of us travelling.

If anyone knows if we're better booking now or waiting until last minute to book?

    Cheers

    M

Would it be a good idea for posters to indicate if they have been helped with a post to say this? Alternatively, TAs and experts could post a public reply to say the price cannot be beaten.

I'm going to update mypost to let people know I've not had any response...

Your point is a good one. Perhaps people who have been successful could let us know!

Just my thoughts - I agree in that I think the onus should fall with the OP to update their post if they have had a response - in fact I would go so far as to say it would be bad manners if they didn't.

Looking for a holiday to Istanbul or Marrakech for a couple of weeks around the beginning of April (flexible dates) for a single person traveling from any London Airport to a 3-4 star hotel close to the tourist attractions. I have had a quote for 13 nights in Istanbul at Ipek Palas Hotel of £572 from 1-14 April. Can this be beaten or is it a good quote? What do people think?
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
