Without wishing to upset any travel agents (especially PersonalTravelConsultant!) - in these days of easy access to the internet, do we need travel agents? How do they survive? Is there any advantage using a travel agent rather than just doing it yourself?
Just wondered...............0 -
You can sometimes get slightly more protection, and sometimes they have access to lower prices. It is rare however.Lucy_Lastic wrote: »Without wishing to upset any travel agents (especially PersonalTravelConsultant!) - in these days of easy access to the internet, do we need travel agents? Hi, spotted a deal on Jet2 Holidays going from Manchester to Enfidha (Tunisia) on Sun 5th July, returning on the 12th staying at the IBEROSTAR Averroes on an all inclusive rate for 2 adults and 2 children (aged under 1 and 4) staying in a junior suite with sea view.2p off is still 2p off!0

I cannot speak for everyone but our company are actually very different from your typical travel agents. I agree that travel agents are going out now that people have internet access to holidays. However, we offer a personal service that some highstreet travel agents do not offer, we are there for our customers from the moment they enquire about their holiday all through out. We are the customers first port of call with any questions or problems and that saves the customer trying to deal with suppliers direct. We can offer internet prices but with the added personal service that a lot of people still want and need. With our low overheads we can actually beat internet prices and still offer a unique service. We have access to over 2000 suppliers and offer excellent protection with our holidays that you might not always get on the internet. :-)Lucy_Lastic wrote: »Without wishing to upset any travel agents (especially PersonalTravelConsultant!) - in these days of easy access to the internet, do we need travel agents? Hello
Without being rude you did post your holiday in this thread in order for us to obtain a better price
I also mirror what PersonalTravelConsultant has said in that not every agent is the same and out just to get a quick booking.
I work for a tour operator that has the customers interests as the main priority and spend a lot of time trying to craft the perfect holiday and giving exceptional service.
There are some good agents still out there.
You can see from all the thanks I have gained from this forum alone I must be doing something right
Thanks
