I miss our Iceland for the freezer bits - as said they aren't always that good for everything else.

Ours shut down a year or so back and was replaced by an M&S foodhall - good for treats, but not for a weekly shop (at least not in an MSE budget, lol)

are you talking about oadby iceland?

Iceland do frozen raspberries and mixed berries far cheaper than any other store (about 1/3 the price of M&S!). I buy those and frozen potato waffles there.

Iceland is really good for freezer stuff (the chicken kievs aren't great) but they do duck in ornage sauce for £2.50 for two and they are yummy!

I bought two packs of 4 fresh chicken breasts (500g each I think) the other day for a fiver which I was impressed with, the quality was good. I don't usually shop there but every time I go in I wonder why I don't.

I stock up on ice-lollies for the kids - can get loads really cheaply & saves them a fortune otherwise they waste all their pocket money on the ice-cream van that stops outside. Every night. All year.....

And their minii chicken roasts with apple & cranberry stuffing are lovely :-)

Yes, in Wiltshire we now have M&S in Devizes and Trowbridge instead of Iceland, but the Iceland in Melksham is still there.

i love iceland frozen sweetcorn. it is so fresh tasting. best i have tasted( frozen i mean) i also buy their frozen cooked chicken strips. they are only £2 for abig bag. just stir fry from frozen. i use them for hm pies , wraps , pizzas etc. sometimes i buy their 80p pizza just to keep 1 or 2 in freezer for nights when i feel like a takeaway night and dont want to make one. and i buy their frozen plain fish fillets. bag of white fish had about 8( maybe more) fish fillets in. good size also. it was pollack as well which i love. they also do smoked fish which is scrummy. think white fish is £2 and smoked is £3.50. so very cheap.

What is the quality of the food like at iceland nowadays?

Their own brand stuff is generally a bit grim in my opinion.

Having said that, I do buy their frozen petit pois - normally I would only ever have Birds Eye, but these are just as good and a fair bit cheaper.
