Bargains at Iceland?

I see adverts for Iceland on both TV and in print, they seem fairly cheap and was wondering how many of you regularly buy (anything) at Iceland? I have been in before, but it was just to grab bread or milk etc on the way home and not really paid much attention to any of the 'deals'.
Thanks for your input!:)

I tend to go to iceland once every few months to stock up with cupboard staples, frozen pizzas and desserts and stuff. They sell most frozen things for a £, but they don't really have enough variety IMO to do your main shop there, and their fresh stuff is not particularly good value or quality, and the range of non-frozen stuff is very limited.:j Baby bonce was born on Christmas morning after a ridiculously short labour and no pain relief! If only losing the baby weight was as easy!:T0

It depends how big you iceland is though, theres some big ones and some smaller ones so the bigger stores will stock more of a range than the smaller ones, its possibel to do a full shop but it depends on like i say how big your store isNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Shame they don't do online ordering, used to like using them but when the retail park one near me closed and there is only a town centre one I stopped using themOne day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
We used to have a big one, then they closed it and opened a Next! Now we only have a small one in the centre of town with nowhere nearby to park, so you either have to struggle, or buy over £25 to get it delivered! They used to do online shopping, then it was scrapped!
Used to like Iceland when it was easy to get to, not nowI Believe in saving money!!!:T

I go to Iceland a lot. They've just cut Vitalite to 76p which is very good for me a I can't have dairy. They had ice cream (ok, not *meant* to have dairy) at something like £1 for 6, but it varies. They have cheap fruit juice and soft drinks and such, and often offers on crisps, but I'm less impressed by the availability and pricing of raw ingredients. Obviously, I guess, it's a microwave fan's shop really!Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0

I do all my shopping at Iceland and have done for about 5 years. I manage to run an old style kitchen from what I buy at Iceland. If you shop carefully there are a lot of BOGOF deals which can cut your food shop down by a lot. Also if you spend more than £25 they deliver it for free. I've tried shopping at other places in town such as Tesco, Morrisons, Somerfield and Rainbow and never got the same value for money as I do at Iceland. They get the thumbs up from me :T2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I miss our Iceland for the freezer bits - as said they aren't always that good for everything else.
Ours shut down a year or so back and was replaced by an M&S foodhall - good for treats, but not for a weekly shop (at least not in an MSE budget, lol)DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
What is the quality of the food like at iceland nowadays?
I used to shop there but found that the quality went downhill after a while so I stopped.
Is it any better now? What things do people buy from there that are good quality?Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
The frozen veg seems to be alright. The vitalite and quorn stuff are branded so the same wherever. The eggs have been ok. The cheapest fruity drinks are a bit rubbish, but I have fixed that by watering them down and adding a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar per litre. Umm. Pizzas etc seem alright...Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0
