There are lots of us complaining about poor speeds and dropouts (especially people who are gamers), on their forum and most have contacted cs with no good outcome, some saying that they admit there is a problem, but do nothing about it.
I've suggested that we contact Watchdog, as they talked about poor internet services, a couple of programmes back, and tend to look into things, if a number of viewers contact them about a topic.0 -
I'm afraid your problems may not be over yet. I signed up in May 2015 with the offer of £100 cash back. It was supposed to arrive after 60 days but it never did. Contacting the Chief Executive of Plusnet has just resulted a whole series of excuses. I have just emailed the Chief Executive of the parent company who are BT.
Same as you still waiting for cashback, well I signed up in July so looks like I'm 2 months in the queue behind you waiting!0 -
I have been with Plusnet for almost 4 years contracted to their Broadband, line and Anytime call plans. After reading various forums regarding Plusnet's atrocious service, I have to say in my case they have performed well. I am no computer whiz kid, in fact I only use it for surfing the net (mainly MSE, Hotuk deals and Ebay) so I would say I am a light user.
My current deal is running out at the end of this month and I am incensed that the current offer they are presently advertising is for new customers only. How riduculous is that?
Of course I understand its their prerogative to make the rules but its my prerogative to walk away and take my business elsewhere. How stupid to turn £200+ worth of business down and I bet I'm not the only one who feels this way. come on Plusnet, get a grip!0 -
I phoned them up and got free BB , £50 Amazon voucher, 12 mth contract plus kept the old call plan which is no longer available.0

About to phone them up again, will see if I can get anything. I've already tried once and got nowhere, went to talktalk to see if they'd budge on their price (which they wouldn't), but can get a better deal through Origin (via Uswitch)
Will post another message later.......0 -

Now you are kidding!!
I've just approached talk talk and for £27.95 (fixed for 18 months) I get anytime calls to 01,02,03 numbers (not 0870 0r 0845), caller display, transfer calls to mobile, unlimited BB, line rental and a 200 minute, 500mg and unlimited texts sim card.(my husband is on a ridiculously high paygo tarrif with O2) so that will come in useful. The new Plusnet contract was for 18 months with £185.88 up front for the 12 months line saver rental, the remaining 6 months line rental would be £17.99 monthly) £10 per month for BB, £6.50 for anytime calls which does include 0870 and 0845's and 99p caller display, so if I opt for Talk Talk, I could save my self circa £5 per month which over 18 months all adds up. I've gone through TCB so hopefully £90 will be forthcoming, but I won't hold my breath on that one!!! A new customer with Plusnet would be charged £18.00 for line rental & BB. So as I see it, its their prerogative to make the rules and its my prerogative to take my business where I choose. I know Talk Talk's reputation isn't brilliant, but whilst I have been happy with Plusnet, there are some horror stories about them too. Having said all that, I find it hard to understand this business of new customers being treated better than customers who return year after year to them. It takes all sorts I suppose.
