As to the size of the dongle blocking access to the other USB ports, that would have been fixed for under £1 by simply getting a short USB extension cable thus moving the wireless dongle out the way
Yes well that is a solution but the solution should not be needed0

Thats potentially arguable but having not seen the set I've no idea if it is truly blocked from using any other USB device or if its just a tight squeeze with a standard/thin stick and just another fat device is blocked.
With my AVR the official wireless dongle is sold separately and is tiny but by all accounts is rubbish. There is a 3rd party dongle that works much better but is much more chunky and similarly causes some challenges in fitting anything into the other port but a slim USB stick can be encouraged in without excessive force or breaking anything.
Does the TV not support streaming if you have the wireless dongle in?0

Have you confirmed that your model was designed to play films from USB sticks?0

I am glad you are all pointing out different factors as withme explaining just the basics to Trading Standards they said I should make a moneyclaim and send a letter before action but looks like I might not be able to after all0

That will be your problem then. Convert the files to avi and they will play fine.
Ps - you've been a naughty boy downloading pirate copies of films haven't you 0 0

You don't appear to have tried using your USB stick in any other TV.
Can you be sure that there is nothing wrong with the video on the USB stick?
In other words, maybe the tv is reproducing accurately what is on the USB memory stick, but the stick, or the recorded data on it, is at fault.
Also, why isn't the wifi dongle in the wifi usb socket?
That's item 12 on the diagram on page 4 of the user guide.
You would then have no problem inserting your memory stick in one of the other sockets... item 13 on the same diagram.
Did you read this (on page 31 of that user guide):
In particular, note the first bullet point.
And the supported video formats are shown on page 36 of the user guide.
 mkv is not listed.0
