been back to the dealer twice with problems associated with the stop/start device which cannot be permanently disabled, he has to do it every time the ignition is switched on.

Is that not how it is? Every car I've come across with stop/start technology needs to be turned off every trip and can't be disabled permanently.

    No hardship pressing a button??
Sure a tuner/good indy could disable it through the diagnostics easily enough.

Workmate turns his off for drive to work, 3 miles and 3 roundabouts not much point.
Does it do it on cold engine, or just once up to temp?
    Never driven one :)

Thats a whole other thread, but my journeys are so short the engine is rarely warm enough for it to kick in anyway.

Cross posted. No, only works with a warm engine. All a bit pointless if you are on short trips like me.

So if the journey's too cold for it to kick in, why bother turning it off...? <scratches head>

Yeah would have a flat battery every week!
Would like to think it has to be up to full temp, but know nothing about them.
Keep stopping and starting a cold engine isn't ideal.
