I tend to find that the more expensive long grain rice is longer than the cheap stuff. Try branded stuff instead of smart price perhaps? OH likes Tilda rice, either normal stuff or microwave, but he is Asian so has Asian not Greek tastes so I'm not sure how much use that is to you!

Why don't you go to Asda and have a look down the ethic aisle? Not everything will come up on the online shop but some of the bags are HUGE so you could just buy a big bag to last months.

Actually the OP in message #15 says they are from Greece, hence the mention of Greek products. Plus #8 says he is not Asian.

rach_k, I suggest you go back and read all the messages!

It is Rach's husband who is Asian. She knows the OP is greek.
  • If you go to a big supermarket ie. Tesco it'll have a World Food aisle and there'll be a variety of rice varieties available. If you go to a Sainsbury's one, you'll find rice from Italy, Japan, and Spain etc. Some may be in packaging where you'll see the type of grain, but others you won't. IMO, I think it'll be long-grain rice, but then again, I'm not Greek. I did use long-grain for making dolmades though...

What is the cheese and rice called in greece? If you can give it a name perhaps we can help further or maybe others can point you in the right direction.

If you tell us the exact name and brand in Greek maybe someone will know what you mean and be able to help you.
