Lol love the 'natural' claim...since when do dual brushes grow on trees?

Surely 'natural' would be leaving it or maybe a willow branch.

We were actually thinking of buying the big hand held one and the smaller one together. The smaller one would be handy for the car.

My mum and dad bought both and they're really pleased. They're house isn't much of a challenge though, no pets and my mum's always cleaning anyway.
    Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
    And now the final frame
    Love is a losing game

Have used both the Dyson hand held and Gtech Air Ram cleaners, I sell them, the Dyson is good as it's got suction and is handy for round curtains, walls for dusting, both struggle on shag pile carpet and have small dust bins, I've tried both at home, it a large house and the only hard floor is in the kitchen the rest is carpet, whilst the Dyson was very good the G Tech Air Ram was great, me and the wife both love it, so that's what we bought.

I bought the Gtech air ram after one of our two dyson's packed up. We keep one upstairs and one downstairs. The plan was to have the Gtech for upstairs, but it's migrated downstairs and I carry upstairs to use there too. The Dyson seems really heavy now and only gets dragged out occasionally to go round the edges and do the stairs.

We had a cat (sadly died) and it was good for removing his fur from the carpets.

We got my elderly MIL one and she loves it.

Oh and the cat wasn't bothered by it either!

We seriously considered one - to save getting the bigger hoover out every time there were a few crumbs or bits on the floor....... However I spotted a small carpet sweeper for £12.99 in Wilkos, having not had one for 30/40 years and I'd forgotten how good they are, so won't be spending £200 on a Gtech now.

I am considering buying the Air Ram upright and the handheld together. Has anyone got both and do they fully replace your old hoover? We have a large house but no animals.

We have just the AirRam, bought before the hand held came out,
but I don't think we would have bought the hand held, as we already have a small Panasonic bagless cylinder cleaner and a full sized Hoover, which came with a free handheld (mainly used in cars).

Our dogs have quite long coats, so the rollers do have to be de-haired, but this task is easier than cleaning those of a conventional upright.

The AirRam needs the backup of cylinder, for stairs and the Hoover for a good carpet beating, but we already have other machines, meaning I can take advantage of the big bonus; the fact that this machine is so light and self propels, rather like a lawn mower (plus the fact that it is quicker to get out than a cleaner which needs cable uncoiling and plugging in).

If you have pets, the AirRam alone probably needs backup, but for someone with mobility problems or less 'traffic' it's ideal.

Some AirRams do make a noise and that is probably an indication that the motor is malfunctioning. Ours did when two weeks old, but GTech collected it next day and returned within two, under the 5 year warranty.

During service they scratched the cover of the dust pan, but when I informed them, they sent me a complete dustpan and lid by next day post, so service is excellent.

We have both. The little one is garbage, unfortunately. The suction compared to the dyson handhelds is just dreadful and the whole thing falls apart (well, ok, the bin falls out) at the slightest knock to the thing. Only positive is you get an absurdly long run time (at least 20+ mins on a charge), but you need to go over things so many times to clean them you understand why the run time is so long.

The upright is more divisive. I love it for our carpets, brings them up much better than any traditional vacuum. My wife however, hates it with a passion for the following reasons:

    1. There is no simple way of cleaning the brushbar. In other devices, you can remove the brush completely to clean it. With this, you can't and it makes the job so much harder.

    2. The waste bin holds next to nothing, and is stupidly messy to empty. We always have the small one to clean up the debris when we empty it.

    3. It's useless for hard floors. The brush bar just flirts debris forward rather than hoover it up. If you have any sizable hard floor, using this machine is impractical.

Overall, I'm reasonably happy with the upright, but my wife desperately wants to go back to a conventional vacuum cleaner...
