Hello All
Today I shopped using the last £9 of my weekly budget. I bought a 250g pack of mince which I have stretched into 2 meals. One a lasagne. The 2nd will be a chilli tommorow.
For the lasagne I used up the pumpkin innards from halloween, plus a good handful of breadcrumbs so frugal as well. I chose mozzarella for the top as I realised that at 50p per ball it was far cheaper than the smallest block of cheddar. Good for stretching out the pounds. My month started on October 25th and runs till november 25th at £48.75 so far." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Afternoon All
Did a weekly shop yesterday. Decided to try and save £ on petrol and go to Tesco instead of Aldi..NEVER again!
Spent £70 in Tesco and I swear it wouldn't have cost that much in Aldi.
Gutted, and annoyed!
So my total so far is £252/£350. So less than £100 for the rest of the month. Think I'll do a tinned food shop from Asda or Sainsburys today and then leave £20 for 'Emergencies' and fresh fruit/veg.0 -

Does Aldi have a website? I'd be tempted to try and go CSI on my shopping bill and see if you would have saved much or just think you would of." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hiya
Just read your post. For me the freezer section is where it's at. For the price of one whole chicken you can get a sack full of frozen chicken pieces in sainsburys. £4. It's awesome. That will do us half a week. For a family of 2 adults & a 5 yr old we can get home made fried chicken as one meal, roast chicken for another meal, usually enough for a risotto and sandwiches too. Another amazing one is the enormous bag of beef mince for £6.95 that will do about 20 meals such as lasagne, shepards pie, home made burgers etc. I tend to buy one big sack of meat per week but then use bits up of each." Hello,
First shop of November, did a tiny shop at w8rose and spent £4, all stickered of course, ripe Brie for lunch, organic bread, bananas. But the veg were not reduced enough to tempt me so I went home, picked up my trolley and moved on to the market, where I filled the trolley with massive amounts of fruit and veg for £11. This includes a quick drop in at the Turkish shop for their amazing seeded bread and super cheap wholemeal pitta (3 packs of 6 for 99p). Using the oven to make them would cost me more!
So, first £15 down and plenty of food in the house. And tonight I am not even using any (although I am bringing a contribution of bread, salad and peppers) because we have been invited to dinner at friends house, where everybody contributes a bit of food and the dinners are amazing.
Going to update sig now, have a good evening and enjoy the fireworks if there are any in your area. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Hello
Is Waitrose a good shop for bargains? Genuine question as I have literally only stepped foot in one once and that was for the free coffee. I did find a chicago town pizza, some haribo & oven chips at tesco sains level of pricing but all the basics were much higher. Your haul sounds good.

I know I would have definitely saved money in Aldi. Some examples are bags of salad (30p cheaper in aldi), Arborio rice, coconut milk, yogurts (tube its vs choobs) as well as tea and coffee.Hello

I was wondering the same thing last week and would be interested in the answer too. I am interested in the price of basics as well as how big their GF (Gluten Free) and Dairy Free/Vegan range is?0 -
