My dipped bean are really white, but can't see a bloody thing with them.
May look 'cool' to others but I'd rather see where I'm going.

If you are used to factory OEM HIDs then you are going to be disappointed by regular halogens imo.

There are 'Xenon effect' bulbs out there with whiter light (I think Philips do a Blue Vision Ultra) but the output won't be as good as the X-Tremes.

FWIW, OEM HIDs are typically 4300K. Stray above 6000K and you start getting into blue territory and proper light output drops off notably.

As asked earlier - what's more important to you - the light output or the colour of the light?

im trying to strike a happy medium. but the fitted ones in the galaxy are dim and yellow but i think your right after having factory fitted HID i am starting to believe im not going to get anywhere near in brightness or colour.

    Hello, have you tried these?

Not sure if these are the right fitment for yours, but have heard recent positive reports that these are "whiter" than Nightbreakers etc.

Hi thanks for the link but these are not road legal. Don't want to be getting in trouble with the police.

Not that this helps you much but I think all cars should have HID headlights as standard.

Oh, OK, I thought these were "legal" due to being a 55w bulb.

Admittedly on re-reading the advert I can't see anywhere that they are "E-makred" etc. But neither do they state they are only for show use.

    Confusing myself now... :embarasse
