if xenons are an optional extra for that model, there will be the plugs buried somewhere in the loom with blanking inserts in them, it should be a case of finding the extra plug in the loom near the headlamps and plugging the xenon headlamps (making sure the self leveling works) in and inserting a the correct fuse rating then head off to MOT station for alignmentsparky260500 wrote: »I wish it was a easy as that there is a lot more to it then just swapping headlights, extra wiring.0 -

this model has manual leveling and no headlight washers so will not pass MOT
also still only 1 plug on the xenons headlights just more wires going into it. not a extra plug.0 -

I ran the same set of bulbs in 3 or 4 cars over many years with no issues. This was cars from around 1990-95 including cavaliers and a calibra which weren't known for good wiring to the headlights.
It did blow the fuse in the E36, but a bigger one was fine for 4 years.0 -

or a kit kat wrapper :rotfl::rotfl:
think i'll stick to 50w0 -
OP - check that all the wiring (especially the earth connections) in the headlight circuit - including the switch, relays, fuses, etc -are making good contact.
A few years ago a friend of mine was complaining about the poor headlights on his Scirocco. Turned out that one of the earth connections was quite badly corroded - cleaned it up and the difference was (if you'll excuse the pun) night and day.Philip0 -

Nah was definitely a fuse.
Not as if you have main beam on for hours at a time like dipped beam.
For 4 years the car didn't blow up so not sure what's funny, but I hope you find bulbs that sort your problem.0 -
