Incidentally, is there a way to change the folder icon colour?
I'm finding the bright blue a little too (erm) bright...
It's also be good to be able to turn off the thin black border around the edge of the new dock; it makes it look disconnected from the OS. I'm going to experiment with adding a grey band at the bottom of my wallpaper to tray and make it meld in better...0 -

Its even worse in dark mode, you'd have thought it would switch the icons to dark ones.
You can't do it out of the box. You need an icon pack from somewhere and either overwrite the existing icon files or use a third party tool to do the replacement for you.0 -

You do’t know how good you’ve got it. I’ve just changed one of my folders to a subtle shade of barbie pink.:rotfl:

I did the iMac this morning and so far no problems. I think that I rather like the new look but then I liked the others too, it's just a tool.
I set the MacBook downloading while I played with the iMac and when it came to install I got an error, file cannot be verified, might be corrupt etc.
Hmm..... I suppose it could be but I doubt it and this hasn't happened before. It's currently downloading again so we'll see.
Of course I neglected to make a copy of the file that the iMac downloaded before it deleted itself
With fibre download speeds it seemed hardly worth it, until you're sat waiting for another copy that is. :rotfl:One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
I tried Yosemite and unfortunately there are some of the new features I can't use my iMac is mid 2010 with 8GB of memory Also there are a few bugs one was with my graphics, they need to sort them out. Thankfully I used Time Machine to restore Maverick and I then had an email from David A Cox who is an expert on all things Apple! You can check him out on YouTube, advising Mac users not to upgrade to Yosemite just yet its far to buggy so I will wait until advised by David.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
Since first using Martins I have saved thousands0 -
Just upgraded my 2011 iMac this morning and so far so good except my password software doesn't work which is going to be a real pain until they upgrade it
The new design just complements IOS so no real surprises there and of course it upgraded seamlessly. I have yet to try out Time Machine - I have a backup scheduled in 60 minutes time so fingers crossed it works and I don't have to start again with 300Gb to back up.
My Bluetooth packed up one night a few weeks ago and despite trying all the suggestions to reset I couldn't get it back. Was hoping this rebuild would bring it back but it hasn't so looks like my machine will be off to Apple and I will be off to rob a bank to pay for it to be repaired.0 -

When I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion my Brother labeller ceased to work. Brother supports it up to W 8.1 but not beyond SL!
Canon does not support MP610 beyond ML but does to W8.1. I downloaded Mavericks to a partition and found MP610 still works.
Beware leaving yourself printerless. You might just need to print something like boarding passes urgently.
Does Time Machine in Yosemite allow you to go right back on E mails? On ML it won't go back beyond ML installation.
My main gripe is with Canon as the MP610 is not that old.0 -
I'm still having problems with the MacBook Pro, it's a mid 2010 model and Yosemite refuses to load. I've tried upgrading via the App store several times and I've downloaded it via the iMac and copied the file over to the laptop and I'm still getting the verification error.
Both the iMac and the MacBook are reegistered/authorised in my Apple account and I'm signed in to my Apple ID when I try to upgrade.
Very odd.
I have decided to try a new install to see if that will work. If not then there is one other thing I can try before a serious rethink.
I can put the original HDD back in and try that, I replaced it about a year ago with the 500GB SSD. I've not had any issues with the SSD, in fact it has been a fantastic upgrade but you never know if there's something about it that Yosemite doesn't like. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

A £1 dongle from Poundworld will sort the bluetooth out rather than pay through the nose for an Apple repair.0
