There aren't many (good) apps for windows though are they? I ask, not having a clue about what apps I will use / need (and of course no lightroom)

Does anyone have any clue if it is tricky to get photos off a tablet using whatever the program is onto a laptop / desktop into lightroom?

Although I have yet to do it, any photo on my ipad would have a share option no doubt, so I'd send it to myself via email and pick it up on my laptop/pc where I wouldopen it in picasa, do any changes, then print off.

On the subject of ipad's and photo's, I picked up a good app recently called horizon. However the tablet is held, the sensor somehow levels the photo off so the horizon is as it should be.

    Supernatural :o

We don't have Sky but we use Blinkbox and you could look at them if you want to buy tv shows. We're still waiting for Season 9 Supernatural but we were able to buy Season 4 of Game of Thrones which isn't out on DVD yet. At the moment we're catching up with Orphan Black. (But there is a question mark about the future of Blinkbox because Tesco have put it up for sale).

I don't want to buy them though <whispers> I want them for free.
I know that Supernatural 9 is on Showbox as is the next series of Scandal (as personal fav) I assume there are other apps that do the same kind of thing?

Pthree - good apps on Windows? You understand we're talking about Windows 8 here - you know, the full desktop OS? MS Office, and all those other full apps/programs? Also an addition of 'metro' or tiled apps, sort of mobile focussed ones. The point of having a full desktop OS is being able to do ANYTHING a PC can do. How do you deal with photos? The same way you do on a laptop! As I said above you've got a full on PC, and that includes Adobe Flash, which iOS and Android can't do (well).
