Which tablet / I-pad?

I have been after a tablet type thing for ages but everything out there just baffles me, I go, I look, I choose one, I talk myself out of it in case its the wrong one.
I travel a fair bit by train (just UK) and am sick of lugging around my laptop.
I need it to:
a) Be able to have an app to watch TV mainly US shows that aren't on here, I cant wait for the new series or that Sky sucked me into watching 8 series then stop showing
b) Email, general internet stuff, Facebook etc.
c) Music (probably not a huge amount)
and if at all possible
d) able to run Lightroom and be suitable for quick and basic editing and hold a memory card full of photos
Any ideas?
d) Is a perfect world option am I pushing it a bit?
I don't want to spend more than £300
Thanks

iPad is out if you want to use a memory card.....They don't accommodate one.
So that cuts down your search, to Android or Windows tablets. Do you have a particular size in mind?Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I had a samsung galaxy tab 3 hoping it would be useful on trains using wifi data not my own. This proved to be a non starter. Sold it bought ipad and on first journey, viewed stuff saved to "view off line", then experimented and discovered I was on-line using the rail network wifi.
I have since been told that ipads connect more easily then others and ipads don't require antivirus.
If you think differently, don't shoot me, I'm only telling you what I've been told and accept. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I thought I would be able to do it straight from the camera clicked that ipads dont have the usb thingy do they?
Handbag size, so no bigger than 10" or I'll have to get a new bag as well :T but I'm more fussed about function to be honest.0 -
I looked into this the other day as editing photos was one of my must haves. An ipad will read photo files, including raw, off a memory card or stick with the appropriate adapter. You can also run a Photoshop application (with very limited functionality) but I'm not sure about Lightroom. Maximum file sizes seem limited too.
ETA: There is a Lightroom app too.0 -

You will need a data connection or possibly wifi .You will need to buy a subscription to something like netflix .

Any should do the above .
Memory card as said not Apple .
Lightroom not Android yet .
But Adobe has Android Photo editing stuff for Android .
Might be tight at £300 for a decent ten inch screen .0 -
Question, do you currently have a Sky subscription?
If you do and you are considering an android tablet, be aware that sky go doesn't work on some brands of tablet.0 -

What did you decide to go for in the end?
The iPad. It was through work and I was under a bit of pressure to conform. My argument against it was that I couldn't get pics off my camera but that was blown out the water when somebody pointed out that the iPad has no problem importing pictures or videos from cameras or memory cards.
Until then I was pushing for a Dell Venue Pro 11 with full windows 8.1 and proper USB 3 support.0 -
And does the iPad connect well to wi fi where available? I looked at them in the Apple shop yesterday. I am thinking of getting an iPad 2 mini which i can order through work at a discount. I already have an iPod touch which connects well. I wasn't sure whether it was worth getting the cellular one or not.0
