Sounds like a tank........ I just heard it arrive home.

It certainly didn't sound like a tank on collection.

    Would that not suggest exhaust?
Blown inlet manifold gasket can tick.
Any more news on what garage say is wrong?
  • So I'm assuming it's a Jag, but not being that familiar with them, does anyone know if there's any common faults to the marque which could be the issue here?

Maybe someone fitted the alloys to a Mondeo? Is there a reason why there is no protocol on this site that means posters expect crystal balls to be used to work out what the car is before they bother to guess at the real fault from the vague description?

Be handy to know if we are discussing a Jag Mondeo or a Ford mondeo. Fords is more reliable.
  • Hi

It is a Black Jag Estate 05 plate

Neighbours son works in a garage and that was where it was taken but no thing in writing.

I have asked him to get the garage to specify the faults so I can include in my drafted letter - and enlighten the audience here.

I know last week he was trying tho make a blanking plate out of an old drinks can in order to blank out the alternate thing that could have been causing the problem

Turns out he didn't even test drive it

    :-(
  • Diagnosis has already been done by a garage. As soon as he or DH show up again I'll ask for the specific technical problem with it (I just understood the word valve).

    The advert read:

BLACK, Next MOT due 30/07/2015, Electric cloth/leather 4way driver/2way front passenger adjustable sport seats, 7"x17" Belize alloy wheels, Electric front + rear windows - anti trap + one touch, Single slot CD, Automatic air conditioning with climate control, Tilt/reach adjustable steering column, Traction control, Black roof rails, Perimeter alarm, Remote control central/double locking, Electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, Immobiliser, 4 spoke perforated leather multifunction sports steering wheel. 5 seats, in excellent condition and a lovely drive, well worth a look at this price, im sure first to see will buy, there are a few age related marks. px welcome open 9 am to 9 pm 7 days a week, £2,995

And was definitely listed in auto trader as a Trade sale. So we are at least positive he is a trader.

Doesn't sound like a private sale.

Judging by the crap in the add it sounds like Del selling one for Boycie.

    Oh an X type.

Just burn it as it will be less painful in the long run.
