Is this a temporary decrease? My OH had it for a year and after that they wouldn't renew it. I asked them to reduce my apr so many times and just got the answer of;
"You would need to cancel this card and reapply for a lower apr card"
As Mr T says though, "Every little helps!"
Well done for taking an added step to reducing your debts

Hi October - It's for 2 years and then it goes back up to 19.9%. But in the meantime if gives me a chance to pay as much off as possible without all my payments just going towards the interest!
I've also got an appointment with Hfax on Saturday in the hopes of getting a 0% CC on transfers to further reduce the interest. However I'm not sure I'll get it so the Bcard interest decrease is even more of a bonus.
I've also upgraded my phone contract - had a SIM only contract already but just changed my plan. So whilst it will now cost me 49p per month more, I've got enough data allowance that I won't go over and end up with bills costing more than my plan.
So overall I've had a very good/productive day - water bill repayment, CC interest reduced and a new contract!
Hope everyone else is having a good day too despite the wind and rain!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £6,450.00
Total paid off - £9,150.89 (58% paid off)0 -
Great work Twiggy! :j
Fab day for you! Keep up the positivity! It really helps not just you but anyone reading your diary. I know you have made my day seem better

Such a productive day yesterday that today I don't feel like I've achieved much! But they were bigger things that you can only do once so I shouldn't feel deflated really.
Today started potentially really badly as there was no hot water and the boiler was flashing up all kinds of things! However my dad fixed it in 10 mins - disaster averted!
Had another no spend day so that's a plus! Dinner consisted of using up veg that needed using - and was very well received! Even got asked by my OH if there was any left!
Decided not to take pics of stuff to put on e*bay as out of the 7 items I have to put on 5 still have labels on and one has only been when once! So going to get my friend round on Saturday and take pics of them on - I know I prefer to see things on (not that I will purchasing anything fir a while - but if I do it will be from e*bay as you can get some bargains!)
Won't be a NSD day tomorrow as I'm finally going to get back to Zumba as I've now finally shaken my chest infection! But it will be a LSD!
In other news - my friend asked me it be her bridesmaid which I didn't expect so super happy and excited about that!
Also finally got round to writing a letter to my friend who moved to Australia earlier this year. Yes could email, text, FB etc but I think it's more personal and thoughtful to write (although maybe not money saving but a stamp one a month isn't too much for a friend).Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Well Done Twiggy! Keep going and have fun at Zumba

Today hasn't been a NSD but it has been PSD (planned spend day!). I got everything I wanted and nothing that I didn't! So that takes my total spend since last Wednesday to £13! That doesn't including shopping which I haven't separate money for. It has been easier than normal as OH went away and bought me back a pouch of tobacco (yes I am a smoker
) so haven't had to buy any.
Loved going back to Zumba although I may feel it tomorrow (it's half Zumba half body pump and my arms are feeble!)
So tomorrow is PAYDAY! I honestly can't wait so that I can pay some debts and update my signature (is that really sad?!). Not even bothered about having money again (currently have exactly £6 in my bank), now that I've realised how much debt I'm in I just want to get it gone!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Yay payday is here! Cleared £600 of my debts so I can now say that I owe "just over £9k" rather than "nearly £10k"! Good feeling! Even better feeling is that next month it WILL be under £9k!
Wanted to clear a bit more off my CC as that's the scary big debt, but decided to follow the snowball and pay more off my Next as that's the highest interest rate. However for the first time in a good few months, the CC statement will be less than the previous months when it comes in! And it WILL continue to go down!
I've got an invoice to pay which I forgot to bring to work with me (about £60) so once that's paid I will sit down tomorrow and work out my envelope budgeting properly.
Been trying to earn SBs - over 600 now which isn't bad in a few days but seem to be ineligible for most surveys which is annoying.
Going out with some friends tonight but going to eat before I go and might even be really MSE and have tap water!
I've also got £28.41 left from my food budget for last week and my OH will give me another £100 today for next week (I pay more in for the bills and he pays for food). So I think I'll put that into a "house fund" envelope to cover bits and pieces we need (like light bulbs as they're slowly going one by one!) He's also due to give me the money for the Sky bill - he wants it so he pays for it!
I think that's all for today so far!
Going to put some bits on e*ay on Sunday evening for a week as I figure that's a good time for them to end. Any money from that will go to pay off something! Then I need to find another way to make some more money!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

So I went out last night and had tap water! It was only sociable drinks not getting drunk so I didn't mind. My friends did offer to buy me a drink but I got myself into this debt so I can't put it on to them.
So I've done my budgets for the month:
Petrol - £100
Savings for maintenance - £10
Savings for insurances - £10
Holiday fund - £10
Clothes fund - £10
Xmas presents - £100
My baby nephew who has just been born!!! - £100
My spends for the month - £160
I would have liked to put more away for car, insurances etc but as I haven't put anything aside for Xmas and the arrival of my nephew means I've got less this month. So aim to up the amounts next month.
This leaves £80ish in my bank in case I don't stick to the budgets (petrol may be more as I'm going to visit my friend who lives an hour away) plus we have a friend staying with us at the moment who gives us £40 a week. So that will be ignored for now and hopefully use it at the end if the month to pay off some debts.
OH will also pay for food for the month so don't need to use my money to budget for that.
So wish me luck for my first month of proper budgeting!
Right I'm off to do my cleaning!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
