I swear I did a post yesterday?!
Nothing particularly exciting to report from the weekend! Did a lot of cleaning, OH made a lot of mess! Ok he was knocking down a wall so I'll let him off! Paid some money into the bank - would like to pay it off my debts but due to the spanner (see above) I'll leave it in my bank for now so I don't leave myself short. Did a lild shop and got a few xmas treats which are now hidden from OH as otherwise he'll eat them all! Also ordered some decorations from Mr T using the clubcard boost plus some was reduced - so got about £40 worth of decorations for £11.50 worth of vouchers a whole £1.50 in hard cash! Had planned to go to the market to get some meat but decided not too - I'm happy as we still a couple of bits left from last time which we can now use up before restocking.
Mum waxed my legs and she bought the strips to do (probably too much info for here but it was very MSE so I though I'd share!) Also dyed my hair using dye I had in the cupboard, which also had a 50p off voucher so I'll use that next time I buy some.
Dad has finally let me know what he wants for xmas! He's always the hardest to buy for! So I'm going to find where's cheapest to but it and hopefully get that this week.
Checked my bank this morning and Wessex water have dropped my DD from £50 per month to £29.50. Which is great for now but I'm worried we'll go over and then they'll try and take a lump some! Do they do this or do they just increase your DD to cover any deficit?
Now for my confession - had not one but TWO takeaways this weekend! Oops! OH paid for both but the more money he saves, the better for both of us. Must do better this weekend!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)0 -
Shame about that spanner! Our spanner this month was that the accounts lady 'forgot' to put in my hubby's October overtime. So his November pay was 45 hours short! He will get it but it is a total budgeting pain! xxxJune 23.25/250 Monthly money making target0

Oh forgot to mention - parents bought us a tumble dryer as an early xmas present! How sad that I was super excited! I'm still going to dry stuff on the airers and use it as little as possible. Apparently lodger has other ideas - he was out all weekend, came back yesterday did two loads of washing and put it all the tumble dryer!
Normally I just do everyone's washing at the weekend to catch up, so he would have expected to come back and it all be done but I had enough of my own and OH's to do this weekend which left our lodger with no work clothes for today! I am not his mother!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

In some ways don't miss a lodger. Had one who had a full load or more of washing every day. I did it as otherwise he would overload the washing machine which just causes the bushes to wear out. Decided I wasn't making a great of money on it by the time had heating on more to dry clothes, extra fuel bills, start cooking late on night, grease all over the hob plus lost my single person allowance on my poll tax 25%, Maybe look into lodgers again next yr sometime.
Doing brilliantly on your debts. I just am getting nowhere fast need to hide my credit cards in Jan stop spending.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
I think my lodger may have been your lodger! To be honest we haven't done it to make money (he probably costs us more than he pays!) as he's a friend who we're helping out. And as crazy as he sometimes drives me - he's a great cook so cant complain to coming home to a lovely meal ready to be served up! And he really isn't any bother apart from his lack of cleaning skills!
And thanks re commenting on my debt busting. I'm just hoping my resolve lasts through xmas! On the plus side, think we're having some friends round ours for new years eve which is great as its the cheapest way for me - alcohol from the supermarket and no taxis involved!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Must do a proper update later if I have a chance but quick update to say Next took their DD so that's another £19.05 gone. This leaves only £136.91 left to pay on that debt - although they will add interest on later in the month.
Overall debt total down to £8,211.69 atm but obviously will go up slightly once Next and Bcard add their interest.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

I haven't done a proper update for a while - naughty me!
I have been paying bits and pieces of the debts where I can - another £6.37 off the CC yesterday. This takes my debts to £8,205.32 - so I'm hoping when the interest is added is doesn't take me back over £8,250! I hopeful as my CC is now all at the lower interest rate - we'll find out next week!
Pretty much done all my xmas shopping now and well within budget! I've got £129.41 left in my xmas pot - just need to get my OH something (I think what he wants is £33.50) and I would like to get something else for my dad but as he's so difficult to buy for I'm not going to get some rubbish "just because"! Also need to get a xmas tree - OH wants a real one which isn't very MSE but as its our first year in our own home I'll let him this year. So that will also come out of the pot. Picked up the xmas decorations from Mr T last night - I cant wait for xmas now! Anything left in the pot I may use towards my xmas party - whilst not technically what its for it will save me leaving myself with nothing for the month which is when debts increase instead of decrease!
I need to pop into town tonight and then again on Saturday so at some point I'll grab a birthday card for my friend from the card factory. Then I can give it to her with her xmas card (her birthday is 1st jan). Actually she bought me a birthday present so I best get her something although it will only be little! Ok so that can come out the xmas/birthday pot or I might look on am@zon as I have some vouchers for there still.
Works xmas party tomorrow night - I need to spend as little as possible but the problem will be getting home as no one lives in my direction! I then also need to get over to my boss' house to collect my car on Saturday so reckon I'll get the bus to town and then the bus from there although this does mean I wont be able to get it until late afternoon/early evening as my appointment in town isn't until 3.45. I'm sure I'll be ok without my car until then.
I'm sure there's more to update but I cant think at the moment!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
