Thanks Ratison and AleMrsT! I am now worrying that I've left myself a bit short but my "spends" is the rent from our lodger plus my OH will be giving me money over the month so if I'm desperate I'll keep some of that rather than pay it off things - once it's in the pots it doesn't come out again!
I was worried about getting the money together for the beds in time (need to be paid in full by 10 May) but at this rate I only need to put aside just over £200 a month between now and then and it's done! Ideally will get them gone before then though!
Plus by May my parents will be paid off and the next should be gone so just leaving my od and cc! Wow that's exciting!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Aim by then end of November is to be under £8,500 so £466.15 - might be tight but pretty sure its doable! No - it WILL be doable!
So I'm tempted to say the aim will be under £8,250 but I really don't handle failure well! Definite aim for the end of December though!
I achieved my aim for November and I've already achieved my goal for the end of December! :j
Ok interest will be added and probably take it back over £8,250 but I'm very happy for now (just wait for me to moan in about a week or so!)Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

So my CC online account is now all up to date and I'd misjudged it slightly. When I get my work expenses I pay the whole lot off my CC but I think I had paid a couple of work expenses in cash so my CC was actually £4.80 less than I thought! Always a bonus when it happens that way around!
I also got £5.80 from TBC so that's gone off the CC.
However - I am seriously struggling to dry washing at the moment! There's stuff on the airer which is still wet despite being put on there on Tuesday! And now its starting to get that funny smell! Do I get a tumble dryer?! There is money in the house account which could cover it but had ear marked this for something else - plus I really want to build up to a good amount in there! Whatever happens its NOT going on the CC!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

So last night my lodger threw a spanner and it has landed in the works!
He said he's going to stay with his sister for a month over Christmas from next Saturday. I really do not begrudge him being with his family over Christmas as his mum died in January and so its their first Christmas without her.
As he's a friend and its all very casual him staying with us, so he won't pay rent if he's not actually here. However, I hadn't accounted for this in my budgeting and my "spends" is his rent and I haven't left anything aside - all the money has been siphoned off!
Not quite sure how I'm going to get through Dec on £80 as I have my works Christmas party and my girlie Christmas get together with my friends - and everything else! It means there's two weeks between now and my next payday when I wont get anything from him.
Feel mean writing this, as it really is the best thing for him. But if I'd had a bit more warning I would have left some money aside as I really don't want to take it back out the pots now its in there! So it's not like I don't have money in the bank, its just I'm at the beginning of this debt free/budgeting malarkey and I really want to stick to it!
Also I do have a feeling he'll stay there so my debt busting will slow down a bit without receiving his money, but I guess we'll then be using less gas/electric/water etc although all those bills are DD so wont see the savings immediately.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
